  1. Been steady at 39/24 for hours here. DP at ORH is only 19* (been that way much of the day), same as AUG and lower than PWM (21).
  2. Congrats, Jeff. Swing and a miss for Pit2.
  3. How much sooner were you hoping for? They're seeping in here pretty quickly. The sun's still casting shadows but the sky has gone from blue to gray.
  4. My post was in jest. Wake me when your power comes back on.
  5. Given how confined it is, a simple mention of that fact that could a case in a small area should be enough. This will not be a wide-spread area of significant (damaging/disrupting) icing.
  6. As we said earlier, big ice is a really difficult thing to achieve for any large area.
  7. The RGEM surface temps would argue for a fair amount of plain rain unless there's a colder layer above it. This is going to go down as 40-page event discussion that will be pedestrian outside of 4 posters in SNE.
  8. The difference between my place at 1000' and a mile away at 1200' was staggering.
  9. It's not building if it's melted within the week following. Split the diffference. A lot of meh.
  10. Apologies for what I'm sure is a dumb question......but why are we tracking dews this far in advance?
  11. The year of stat-packing with nothing to show for it continues.
  12. Yeah--it's looking better for you. Looks like a lot of mixing along the mid-coast so no need to go to Pit 2 for that. I'll stay here and, like most of us, watch a little sleet instead. I had posted earlier that I tend to be really dismissive of widespread ice events. It requires such a fine balance that they rarely play out to much more than some visual appeal. While there are notable exceptions, the vast majority turn into something meh for the masses. It appears that this will become one of those, My back-of-mind concern as to whether there could be a power outage has now been replaced with the fear my plow guy will think enough sleet to warrant coming by.
  13. Lots of days and pages of posts leading to this event. Based on this map it looks like it will end up being a ho-hum scenic level 0-1 for most of us, 2 for some, and pretty memorable for a few not too far from Tolland. Tolland, MA, that is.
  14. Going on a perhaps not-too-short-a- limb, I'm gong to predict Yukon Cornelius will wind up the ice-winner on the board.
  15. When do you get to start your next thread?
  16. Correct me if I'm wrong......accumulation is not accretion. This is the total rainfall that would occur with surface temps below freezing. It is not the amount one is going to find on trees and wires.
