  1. Actually, it could be a great time. You can hope for winds to break your windows and HOI will cover your new ones. Sometimes things work out that way.
  2. Had some thunder and lightning wake me up at some point overnight. I guess it was further away than I thought as it appears we didn't get any rain,.
  3. Since we're now discussing which month is the most boring weather month, I guess the heat thread is now done. Heat and dews are the most boring of any weather event. Bar none.
  4. Gross morning. 74/68. LOL at people attributing a shark attack to global warming. With Maine's colder water, there are both fewer sharks and fewer swimmers. A winning recipe for few enoucnters. While rare, I did see that they had caught an 18' white back in '96. Harpswell is close to Pit2, only an 18 mile drive. Probably half that as the crow flys.
  5. That's less than 20 miles from Pit 2. I want you to know that.
  6. Maybe something can play out tonight. Had some distant T/L last evening with some rn-. Somehow managed to lose power. Based on conditions, may well not have been storm related. But I'll pretend it was. At least I won't worry about watering the lawn.
  7. True--but it's more fun within the context of Kevin's post. My wife and daughter will be thrilled to have a new Hallmark movie.
  8. yeah--feels great out there relative to the last couple nights.
  9. In the immortal words of Bob Seeger......way of firm and high.
  10. The recognition of shorter days hit me last night and this morning. The accumulation of the imperceptible daily shifts have hit the tipping point. We've lost 28 minutes of daylight so far. I celebrate this in the summer. In late January, I bemoan the lengthening of them. Oddly, as I typed this, I thought that sounded like a Tip post. To complete that theme, I'd have to say something liike "heh--in a few more weeks we'll find the magnitude of the solar radiance isn't heating the inside of my car as much".
  11. It looks like the accurite at mi casa hit 92. Surprised that's all--I always get the sense it runs warm when the sun hits it.
