My task for next weekend is to get the leaves out of the shrubbery (the branches themselves, not the ground around them). I think it'll be a pain in the ass.

That's one of the good things about living in ORH. The city picks up the leaves. You just need to blow them into the street. That's how it used to be (or maybe still is?) in some of the CT towns. IIRC from my hs days, places like Killingly and Putnam would have all the streets just lined with leaves getting ready to get picked up.

I have to disagree strongly here. My back-pack blower is my favorite thing after my chainsaw.

There was no damage aside from every CT house that were built between 1983 and 2015 which are now all rubble.

There were still a few piles when I walked the dog yesterday morning. Needless to say, they're long gone. The leaves are taking a little longer than I anticipated. Make that a lot longer. I'm glad I took a half day to get an early start on them.

I was thinking the same thing........I've enjoyed many years being away from oaks. It's a bigger issue for my neighbors than for me, but just the same. Sigh.

All rain in Marion according to my daughter. Just measured on the deck, 2@ 5", and the third at 5.5". The snow cover will certainly help with the low temps tonight.
