Just measured here at Riverbend Park. We squeezed out a quarter inch.

Not sure what's going on, but the sun just came out in Hickory and the radar is less than impressive here.

They are putting brine on the roads here in Catawba County.

The SREF mean for Hickory is still 3 inches, which is pretty much what most models have been saying all along for here.

Still sitting at 31.7 degrees here at Riverbend Park in northern Catawba County. Nice coating of ice on everything, including the parking lot (that was a fun walk to the office). I think the county did the right thing by cancelling school today.

The Catawba River is very warm for this time of the year. I think that's keeping it a little warmer the closer to it you are to it. Yesterday morning it was 10 degrees warmer at Riverbend Park (near Oxford Dam) than at my house in the St Stephens area of Hickory only 8 miles away.
