  1. They don't know what the issue is, but they are down. Also nice little TDS southwest of Ottawa.
  2. My primary concern for tornadoes would be from squall line type. 0-3 km shear is forecast to be in excess of 40 knots tomorrow. That's quite a bit, only need 30 kt perpendicular to the line to start spinning up mesos. Even if debris puts a lid on things, that kind of shear means any mesos that spins up could still find a way to force strong winds to the surface.
  3. Yeah winds flipped more southwesterly and Isles of Shoals even jumped to 90 in the late afternoon.
  4. This is correct, which is why higher dewpoints are a good proxy for higher CAPE if you don't have access to CAPE forecasts. But no matter the dewpoint, the lapse rates really drive how significant the severe weather is.
  5. Big cells riding the border in the Northeast Kingdom. Cores up to 45,000 ft.
  6. Then he sat there pondering the smallness of humans in a universe where the sun in blasting us with solar flares.
  7. Real nice aurora right now. Pretty high in the sky here, so I would imagine northern Mass can see as well.
  8. They did it, they played Sweet Caroline.
  9. Just the worst time for this to happen to the Sox. No cover from the Bruins, Pats training camp hasn't opened up yet. Only saving grace is that it's Friday and talk radio will have to wait until Monday to open fire.
  10. To me either a microburst dropped just out of frame and then hit your place, or alternatively you just got steamrolled by a HP supercell.
  11. So about 200 trees down on Moultonborough Neck, but extending across the bay into Melvin Village @CoastalWx. Similar to the other microbursts embedded in the HP track, we estimate 80 mph gusts. Our WCM got shut out by a private estate to check out the damage on one of the points.
  12. I'm playing tomorrow at 9:18, I expect to be fading at the finish with temps in the 90s. But I'm excited to get out there and swing the clubs again for the first time in over a month.
  13. WCM headed there now. Did Sebago (microburst within the larger HP), and Effingham (microburst within the larger HP) first.
  14. Effingham? We just surveyed like 300-400 trees down in town.
  15. Makes me feel so helpless sometimes. We had at least 40 minutes lead time to Sebago, we were messaging it on NWSChat. There's not much more we could've done, but yet still feels like we could've done more.
  16. We're awaiting details but it sounded like a bunch of trees trapped some kids at a summer camp and they had to evacuate them out.
  17. at GYX with 1.25" rain. Heavy, heavy at home with a T.
  18. Two strikes had that tinny sound inside the office, so we knew they were close.
  19. Lightning strike just took out our phones. Brown undies.
