  1. Now you're just showing off. [emoji28][emoji28] Sent from my moto z4 using Tapatalk
  2. Snow stopped at 3:15 in Ooltewah. Started back at 4:00 and coming down at a nice clip. Hoping for 3 or 4 more hours of snow. Radar looks decent. I'm still amazed that Hixson, which is 15 miles as the crow flies, is still rain and hasn't seen a flake. Sent from my moto z4 using Tapatalk
  3. Still all snow in Ooltewah. Co-worker in Hixson has had all rain up to this point. The radar is showing a small rain line just to our west. That has me worried. Sent from my moto z4 using Tapatalk
  4. A co-worker that lives in Hixson is all rain as well. You should switch over any minute. When you do you'll have some cotton balls during the changeover. Sent from my moto z4 using Tapatalk
  5. If we can luck out and somehow get 5 hours if this it will be a nice little snow. Like Dwagner said, sticking here too. Cars are white, ground has a thin layer of white and grills and roofs are white. The Weather Channel even mentioned Chattanooga about 20 minutes ago. They said we could get under a heavy band and have some good accumulations very quick. Sent from my moto z4 using Tapatalk
  6. The video doesn't do it justice. These are monster flakes coming down. Temp is 35° which sucks, but let's see if we can get it to stick. The snow is trying its best to stick. Couldn't add video on the free site. The file is too large. [emoji849] Sent from my moto z4 using Tapatalk
  7. Mix of R/S in Ooltewah. It keeps going from a 50/50 mix and then will switch to huge flakes at roughly 80% snow. Currently looking at mainly snow but flakes aren't as big and not as heavy as when we were mixed. And as I am typing this the snow rates picked up again. We could easily get 3 hours of this and have zero accumulation unless it relentlessly dumps on us. Sent from my moto z4 using Tapatalk
  8. Moderate rain in Ooltewah and all at once it started tossing out some huge cotton balls. Let's hope it can make the changeover 100%. Let's break the curse in Chattanooga for a change. Sent from my moto z4 using Tapatalk
  9. You're in E. Brainerd, correct? Walk outside and check the sky. I'm in Ooltewah not too far from you and we have light rain but an occasional snowflake will mix in. If we do change over to snow, it would really help us to get a quicker changeover, similar to what Huntsville is seeing. My fear is changing over to get a good snow going only to swap back and forth from rain/snow. The temps are killing us with this system. Odds are very slim to get under a heavy band but I guess it could happen for us. That's our only hope with the temps being so warm. Sent from my moto z4 using Tapatalk
  10. Yep. Bill Race is normally conservative. He was showing 1-3" in the valleys but he did go low and said immediate Chattanooga area 0.6". Hell, no one knows at this point. Sent from my moto z4 using Tapatalk
  11. Boobs. I love boobs. [emoji2369][emoji2957] Sent from my moto z4 using Tapatalk
  12. Not sure what to think at the old homestead. So many models spitting out so many different scenarios. Look what the Weather Channel forecast gave us for tomorrow (Sunday). Snow? What snow?[emoji2369] Sent from my moto z4 using Tapatalk
  13. Might be the wrong graph they showed. Just guessing. Sent from my moto z4 using Tapatalk
  14. Take a spray bottle and fill it with alcohol to put a mist in the sheets and bed. Can't be too careful with bed bugs, especially on the "less roads traveled" hotels/motels. Kidding but not really. Sent from my moto z4 using Tapatalk
  15. Sort of surprised in my current location. Just on the state line into Georgia just leaving from visiting my mom to head back to Ooltewah. It's 39° and a very light rain with some sleet pellets mixed in bouncing off the car. Originally our rain wasn't scheduled until very late afternoon. Sent from my moto z4 using Tapatalk
  16. Just finished my weekly Costco run an hour ago. Our Costco is over the state line into Georgia. All the main roads in N. Georgia have a heavy layer of brine. I know they are thinking ahead but it will all be washed away by the rain, even if we get any frozen precip later. Probably between 1/2"-1" of rain. I don't see how the brine will have any impacts on the roads in the event of frozen slop. Sent from my moto z4 using Tapatalk
  17. Slept in today and waking up to a mix of maps in the Chatty area. 1/2 are showing decent snow in our area and 1/2 are showing the infamous no snow for us. Just watched WRCB and the weekend met is calling for a dusting, if anything at all, similar to the last system. I think when these maps spit out 2-4" in our area they would have to be taking the local ridges and mountains into consideration because it appears we are simply too warm for an earlier changeover to get any accumulations. Maybe [mention=499]John1122[/mention] can chime in on my sentence regarding the maps and local mountains. Sent from my moto z4 using Tapatalk
  18. It's interesting how different offices have different views of the Low track. This is from Peachtree City, Ga. It also shows their thoughts on Georgia and surrounding states. I'm not sure if the Tennessee graphics with % of potential snowfall totals are from their office or from Norman. Sent from my moto z4 using Tapatalk
  19. And AccuWeather is showing 2-4" in Chattanooga. Weather Channel shows 1/2". WTVC local.showing 1/2-2" but David Glenn also mentioned it could all change for better or worse depending on the exact track and how early the cold air arrives. He's as stumped as the rest and he is very good. He's smart to play it safe and keep totals low. He mentioned we have almost 2 days for the models to keep changing. Edit to add: He did seem pretty confident Signal and Lookout Mtn should do well but he's not putting numbers out as of now for a mountain guess. Sent from my moto z4 using Tapatalk
  20. I just got home from work and haven't had time to read back all the posts. Does it look like Chattanooga will get 1" of rain or 1 1/2" of rain? [emoji3061] Kidding. Been here before and might be a last minute surprise. Sent from my moto z4 using Tapatalk
  21. When I quoted your post I hadn't made it down to the most recent posts. Chatty is due for a good one that will be on the ground more than 6-12 hours. So many different possibilities. Let's pull for one of those 1970's type snows when we get a nice thumpings for everyone. Sent from my moto z4 using Tapatalk
  22. Be patient. There's still plenty of time to shift the "No Snow, not even a dusting"" over us in SE Hamilton county. [emoji3061] Sent from my moto z4 using Tapatalk
  23. Must be the same in-house models they use in Chattanooga. Locals are saying rain with a possible mix on Sunday with a chance of light snow. They have the low basically just south of the Tennessee border moving NE towards Knoxville with all the snow way north and west. They also showed heavy snow just to our south and east into Georgia and SC/NC border. They did mention a much further southern track would allow for more snow. They are leaning to a little snow possible late Sunday with more in the higher elevations of east Tennessee. They said it "could" change but I guess they are playing it safe. David Glenn on WTVC is very good. He showed the minimal but said he's closely watching Sunday as he laughed. He knows it's possible. Sent from my moto z4 using Tapatalk
  24. It would be nice for this thing to somehow end up as a nice Miller A but as more data comes in it looks like the models are "leaning" towards a Miller B. If a Miller B transpires that won't bode well for the southern valley. Maybe you more knowledgeable posters can chime in on that. We're still 4 days out so we all know anything can happen. NrgJeff, please help reel us a good one in for our area. [emoji74] We need it! [emoji3587] Sent from my moto z4 using Tapatalk
  25. I'm surprised to see MRX talking about possible snow for next weekend. Normally 6 days is a long time in the future for MRX to even suggest a possibility. They mention the model differences and the potential for accumulating winter precipitation if the low takes the southern track. https://forecast.weather.gov/product.php?site=MRX&issuedby=MRX&product=AFD&format=CI&version=1&glossary=1 Sent from my moto z4 using Tapatalk
