  1. Not a bad look and I'll always take some evidence of a chance over no chance. But, we've seen this before several times this winter 1-2 weeks out and it didn't come to fruition.
  2. We're looking right at Mid-February on the models now and just need to come to an agreement on whether it'll be 40° and rainy or.... 50° and rainy. Really exciting developments.
  3. Yep, can't wait till the next heavy rainfall/flood event to track!
  4. We won't be denied. No stopping the greatness of Februa....I mean Mid-February....I mean....March!
  5. Pretty great weekend to get out and enjoy the outdoors. Grass is greening and my backyard has plenty of trees budding and little flowers poking out on the bushes. Winter about to make its curtain call
  6. You know we're down bad when people start throwing out March '93
  7. Pretty easy to see why folks are discouraged right now
  8. I don't think so, either. I'd say <25%. It'll get cold enough just for multiple chilly rain days in late Feb/March. But, no snow other than above 3000ft. I could also see us having a rain event Feb 12-14 that ushers in the cold pattern and then we just completely dry out.
  9. So, what about highs in the mid to upper 50s is supposed to excite me about our February snow prospects below 3500'?
  10. Y'all wanna guess the temps and conditions in Asheville? (Hint: More of the same)
  11. Y'all excited to punt to Mid-Feb? But, then the precip will disappear? And then we hold out for miracle flakes in March?
  12. I've seen one or two flakes mix in this morning but mainly just plain old rain. Not too excited about the long term either.
  13. Where's @wncsnow. I need someone to help tamper expectations
  14. At least we have a fantasy storm(s). We haven't had too many of those lately.
  15. Drove around some today before I had to make the journey home to Asheville. Just unbelievable views of Grandfather and Snake Mountain
  16. I’m so glad I came up here. Banner Elk was certainly the place to be. Roads are still a mess but it’s cold, snow is stuck on the trees, it’s just gorgeous
  17. It just abruptly stopped up here for me. We still look good upstream for the evening/night? edit: light break of snow lasted all of 20 mins. Hammering again
  18. It has been absolutely non-stop snowing this last hour. It's tiny flakes but just so heavy
  19. I've transitioned over into some big fat flakes and it's accumulating fast. Wind is picking up too. Perfect day.
  20. Drove around between Banner Elk and Seven Devils. Several accidents. The roads are in pretty rough shape.
  21. Roads are already covered up here. It's slacked off a bit since earlier this morning but I'm excited to get out and explore some once the sun comes up
