If anyone knows me on a personal level, I am snow and winter weather OBSESSED. But, this winter drained the fun out of it for me. I’m also ready for spring.
It sucks to have two separate events in a winter where it snows fly a few hours and you come away with nothing to show for it. Meanwhile I got people complaining in Raleigh that they’re getting 2” instead of 6”. It’s just so frustrating and deflating.
Heck, I scored more from that rogue NWFS event that broke containment than a “Miller A”
It’s so annoying that it’s been snowing steady or at least off/on since 9 and I have nothing to show for it. Tiny flakes. It’s 37 degrees. We can’t winter here anymore.
I’ve still only seen a few flakes. Been watching out the window all morning. The cloud base isn’t low at all. Normally in snow events I couldn’t see the mountains in the distance but they’re clear as day
edit: there’s nothing falling now (8:32)
Hope at least some of yall get a surprise. Another disappointment for your foothill/lower elevation mountain friends. Consistent with the last few years.
I really let myself get down and out during that January system. This one was the nail in the coffin for me. I'm out of tracking winter weather for this year. It honestly just has not brought me joy. I'll still probably linger but I'm out for the forseeable future. Best of luck, guys.
Posters on here regularly come for wncsnow when he’s just posting what he says for his area….which is exactly the same as y’all are doing. Good for yall down east scoring again. But, foothill folks have a reason to post as well. And the trends haven’t been good.
Don’t blame you, @wncsnow. The main forum doesn’t work for us and the mountain folks kicked us out last year. Sucks that we can’t seem to pull one in. Another dud.
EPS was another tick down here. Seems like it'll be one of those where Piedmont gets smoked, while I get a small storm. Guess it's better than nothing.
