  1. Yep, following this wave we r shutting the blinds until sometime in January probably after the 10th. But you know how things go in a Nina....LR can flip on a dime and go either direction. Eta: you're lucky to just get the noise from your windows. Several of mine on the West facing are showing their age as the curtains move when the wind gusts. Drafty asf. Damn old farmhouses. But it's character they said. You'll feel cozy they said. They don't build em like they used to, they said.
  2. 18z NAM at range. Trends and friends folks.....trends and friends
  3. This is totally normal La Nina stuff though. Cold/dry warmup/wet. Early season epic pattern, late season HL blocking and convoluted flow, mid season 'thaw'. And when it is dry things are progressive and shredded under our region. Been saying forever it seems...be patient. Ninas are predictably backloaded. Still think we get a 10"+ storm here and exceed seasonal avg. That's was my outlook in that thread and not going to change it now. If it hits the waning days of Feb and we have yet to get anything and the lr outlook is closed blinds sorta thing then I will throw in the towel. Until then I see no reason. Get ready to track our snow showers on 12/27. Could be our biggest of the season so buckle up
  4. Euro crushes SE PA on Tuesday! We may double Seasonal totals. And it's only December. Damn!
  5. .25" total. Woo-hoo on the board. Hopefully we can double that before 2024
  6. I thought roads would be worse but I'm headed out to get my traditional Whopper in your honor for every time it snows.
  7. Bought my snowblower for the big Jan storm in 2016. Used it 1 time since. ONE! Yes, warning type systems are a thing of the past here. Very few and far between.
  8. 30F and sun is out here. Sun angle already melting the little accumulation we had
  9. Should see some snow showers next week as the clipper passes by and gets shredded to our South
  10. Temp actually rose here from 41 to 43. All downhill from here tho.
  11. Sleet mixed in as the front came thru....storm highlight thus far
  12. You're right, my exaggeration got the best of me. Just saying watching the temps plummet is cool and all but it really isn't mega rare. Most of us are here for snow tho, not cold fronts.
  13. Mentioned 2 weeks ago we didnt want a polar vortex blast overwhelming the pattern....that we wanted it to slowly settle in the central US and bleed east, not plowing thru. Well, here we are. Cool to see the temp drops but this catalyst is now going to reset the pattern and after it pulls back into the HL blinds are closing for a period. There's light at the end of the tunnel but we have to patiently trudge thru the PAC Puke to get there.
  14. Another overhyped arctic front by the msm and the prez. Unless in the upper Midwest or down wind of the great lakes this is a nothingburger. We get 2 of these a season. Very cold? Sure...but thats also relative. I get it....travel day and all that. I'm just looking at obs and reports and I'm far from impressed. Just being honest. Avocados underperformed
  15. Bought mine day after the big Jan 2016 storm. Used it once since. You can pass the blame onto this guy.
  16. In a way that's cool and all for a White Christmas...but too much of a good thing. Last thing I want to be doing the morning of the 25th is thinking survival and digging escape routes just to be able to get out of my home in the event of a medical emergency or otherwise. A white ground and mood flakes is plenty nuff for me for Dec 25 tbh. BTW off-topic but you're an old head like me.....taking my 13 year old to see his first concert next Sept...Skynyrd/ZZ Top. Not a massive fan of either but I enjoy their hits and am looking forward to bonding with the boy, enjoying the night and the music. You are soooo lucky to have seen Floyd in their prime. I envy this!
  17. Weather geek is all you had to say. Just subscribed. Thanks for the tip
