  1. Misinformation, an out of control msm, disgusting social-media, a political war still raging. I can understand why people may feel unsure and scared. Hoarding and stocking up on things is a line of defense humans/animals have. An instinct similar to perhaps what drove you out into the boonies. I find it a little odd that the majority of people weren't at least a little bit prepared for SOMETHING. Your life is either too cozy or you aren't in touch with the basic human instincts... feed and defend. Probably a smart move you made to distance yourself. Beyond the scope of the virus itself, I think the next few weeks will be trying times to say the least.
  2. Must be doing some serious testing downstate. Michigan cases soar to 787 with 4 known deaths. I've heard the hospitals in the UP do have test kits, no confirmed cases yet.
  3. So when does the stress on "essential workers" start to weaken the supply chain if this is going to go on for months? This is the time to unite.
  4. Storm is over. The wind and snow combined made for a nice event. Some big drifts around the house inside view outside view
  5. Presser at 4:30 with Gov Whitmer, suspect a SIP order incoming for us too.
  6. I'd go a step further and prepare for more than SIP. The best in humanity will rise up but so will the worst, especially if the economy leans more towards a collapse in coming weeks. I'm a prepare for the worst hope for the best kinda guy.
  7. It's fierce out this morning. Snowed pretty much all night after 1/4" of rain yesterday. Snow turned very heavy a couple hours ago, with 2" falling since around 7am. This higher terrain that hugs superior shoreline is getting hammered with intense micro bands embedded in the main shield of snow. I'd estimate 8-9" so far.
  8. Rained steady all afternoon then switched to heavy wet snow an hour or so ago... should snow heavy all night with a winter storm warning in place until 5 pm tomorrow.
  9. Finally some weather to pay attention to rather than my stock account. Wind, snow, and waves for the yoop as things get cranking later today. Some hi-res hint at over a foot if changeover occurs a little sooner.
  10. This is the graph I meant to post, sorry. Not including today which is the highest.
  11. https://www.worldometers.info/coronavirus/country/italy/ Italy deaths
  12. A SIP order may take affect in NYC within 48 hours, and personally, I think the Trump administration's rush to send Americans cash right away is in preparation for a SIP order nationwide. Also think it's why he met with the CEO's of major food retailers yesterday.
  13. I feel good about where I sit. Rarely do I see a vehicle I don't recognize, and there's no reason for anyone to even come out here this time of year. All two-tracks and logging roads are still feet deep with snow. I'm set with everything I need if things do go worst case scenario in the coming weeks. Maybe even a snowstorm late week
  14. Wonder what TP is goin for on the black market?
  15. Fairly wintry like day by mid March standards. High this afternoon was 26, with winds gusting between 30-35 mph all day. Colder air looks to stay for a few more days.
  16. In a panic, if I'm clearing a shelf in the grocery store, it ain't gonna be toilet paper.
  17. At this rate, imagine what things could be like in another week or two. I hope everyone is prepared for a worst case scenario... just in case.
  18. It was a link to a tweet from Beau Dodson saying that he was on a cruise ship sick and wasn't getting proper medical attention, which he did end up getting I guess.
  19. Storm is over, just lingering flurries pretty much. Storm total somewhere between 10 and 11 inches. MQT reported 10.4" with liquid equiv of 1.22", so ratios were a little lower than expected.
  20. Wow, nasty (and by nasty, I mean awesome!) outside. Snow is horizontal, I can hear it hitting the windows. Temp is 28 but should start dropping pretty quick. Five inches away from a foot.
