  1. It's pretty chilly out there this morning, 29 degrees. Baraga Plains is currently 20 and Stonington 22.
  2. Freeze in the forecast tonight. Have already had two frosts. Leaves are turning quickly... I expect peak here is about a week away and so far the colors are vibrant this year.
  3. 33 was the low... frost on the roof this morning, leaves are turning quickly. With beautiful weather the next two days, time to tidy up the garden, finish last minute projects and put things away for the season.
  4. Down to 36 overnight. First fire of the season in the stove this morning and with a forecast high of 49 today and tomorrow, can't help but think about the first snow that's likely just a few weeks away. Reporting stations 32 or below Ironwood 32 Wakefield 32 Kenton 30 Baraga plains 28
  5. I'd say around here at least 10-12% is showing noticeable color and most everything else green, has changed a little. I went to Jays Sporting Goods in Gaylord yesterday and while driving east through the UP, I noticed many areas up to 20% or a little more, especially around the Newberry area... mostly maple. Lake Michigamme down through Republic is coloring up too.
  6. Cool morning. Even with clouds, temp managed to fall to 47 overnight. Areas that cleared went down in the upper 30's and low 40's. Off and on clouds and 57 at 1:45... Fall is in the air
  7. Steady rain all afternoon... 1.70" so far, temp 59. Doesn't feel (or look) much like summer anymore. June - to current: 15.2". Sorry Kitchener
  8. Summery day... 80/66 was the warmest it got. Thundershower popped up on the lake breeze boundary and dropped a quick half inch, has since departed and left some debris clouds and temps in the upper 60's. Feels sticky.
  9. Quaint neighborhood park. Deep fog scattered out and the sun made an appearance briefly, now it's thundering nicely south of here. Feels like it could pour... 68/67 currently. EDIT: 4:45 it's pouring
  10. Heard thunder/saw lightening during the night but it stayed south of me. Morning fog season is here. It's thick and drippy out. Hopefully it lifts at some point today.
  11. Wouldn't take much. I still have warning points from 10 years ago.
  12. Interior west spots should be looking pretty good by then. Far southern Houghton county around the Trout Creek area seems to peak the soonest, I've noticed... there's been light frost a couple times in that area already.
  13. Breezy, pleasant afternoon in the mid-60's. Low's forecast to be in the upper 40's tonight, maybe as low as upper 30's in the favored cool spots if it goes calm. Noticing a few more trees turning... around 5-6 weeks away from avg peak.
  14. It must be tore up there. Are you gonna post your time lapse vid?
  15. I think it bodes well for the rest of the country and will signal a trend in what most schools decide to do.
  16. No one mentioning NYC deciding it's safe to reopen schools and students to return this fall? I mean, if NY can do it safely, most us po-dunk places should be able to.
  17. Warming trend starts today. Overnight lows: imby 40 Stonington 31 Baraga Plains 36 Doe Lake 36 Champoin 37 Kenton 38 Randville 38 Wakefield 39 Marquette Sawyer 39
  18. A little too close to the lake here for anything too chilly, only 45 for the low. Coldest interior locations. Possible frost adv's tonight Baraga Plains 33 Stambaugh 36 Wakefield 37 Watersmeet 37 Kenton 37 Paulding 39
  19. Clouds held a good part of the night, then a sliver of clearing allowed the temp to fall to 47 here, Wakefield 40, Baraga Plains 36. Clouds in the process of filling back in. Will be another cool September-like day.
  20. Nice chill to the air. Had to shut the widows... 53.7 degrees with a hvy mist/light rain. I would bet the w/c has even dropped into the upper 40's at times
