F'n hornets! Got stung for the third time this summer... both legs, back, and thumb today. Nest are hidden all over and for whatever reason really aggressive this year.
Ready for Fall.
Things are beginning to change but it's fairly close to normal, maybe a tad early. There were some pretty cool nights in July. My location usually peaks last week of Sept.
Had a quarter inch of rain this morning to start the August tally. Currently 71/67... smoke has mostly cleared.
Can't help but notice the swamp maples next to the house turning.
83/72 here currently with a severe thunderstorm watch in effect until midnight. Soupiest day of the Summer. Hope it storms like Hell.
Back to the 60's and 70's for highs after today.
Feeling a little sticky out with dews in the 60's. Should have no problem topping out in the 80's today. Point has 87. This will be the fourth and final 80 degree temp of July '23.
At first I thought it was an error because none of the other traditional cool spots even fell into the 30's, but apparently it's accurate.
Looks like 80 is not in play today. Topped out at 78, now 77.
A cool, dewy 47 this morning. Temp should top out just over 80 today which will be the first 80 degree day here since July 4th.
Coldest spot in the yoop:
Baraga 7NW- 29
Shoreline all the way up through Wis is poppin.
73, a tad humid here. Showers/storms starting to develop west over in Baraga County... garden could use a drink.
47 for the low here this morning with some patchy fog earlier. This is the 7th night in July with low temps in the 40's.
Decent rain chances this afternoon/evening.
Will be a cool and breezy day here with some afternoon showers again. High only in the low to mid 60's. An early taste of Fall for the north woods the next few days.
Sadly, have only seen one honeybee all Summer. Mostly just bumblebees, and even they are oddly small in size. Of course there's a plethora of wasps and hornets, as usual. Got stung on my hand last week.
Do notice a ton of caterpillars this year.
It's not just the snowpack, since June 1st MQT has received 5.34" of rain.
It did get dry for a week or so in early June but otherwise ground is nice and damp and everything green and lush.
