    Definitely a bit torn. Putrid airmass is going to hurt... but the mid level track and strong lift/DGZ signal definitely has me bullish. Can definitely see 6-12 for Woody and even 3-6 for BDL. Soundings flip to isothermal paste pretty quickly. Also a bit worried some mid level magic gets into NW CT too.

    Also... really nice DGZ/omega signal on the NAM and GFS here locally. Pretty bullish. Thinking 3-6" valley and 6-12 hills... especially NE.

    Mid level magic for me on the Euro. QPF Queens be damned. Euro 2m temps are a little warm so still some elevation dependence but do think there's a decent power outage threat around here in NE CT.

    Those may be biased somewhat low given the GFS's struggles with 2m temps.

    I’d feel better putting a map in the Boston area but I have very little confidence outside of maybe NE CT.

    Pretty big shift east from 12z to 18z on the GEFS.

    I did have a snow map ready to go. Pulled it at the last minute. Will revive at 11.... maybe.

    Unless the federal government steps up to pay bars/restaurants/etc to stay closed (which of course they should) and keep their employees whole I'm not sure what can be done.

    Yeah, we're in a very bad place. There's also no appetite for shutdowns like we had in March which will make this that much harder. Thankfully outcomes are better with better treatments but man it's not going to pretty.

    For sure. I mean everyone I know with an IKON or EPIC pass is 100% expecting to ski in VT this winter. Not even contemplating not going.

    I'm willing to bet in a couple Fridays the endless stream of black SUVs with NY/NJ/CT plates will be racing up I-91. I can't imagine that the ski areas are expecting compliance with this otherwise why even open for the year? Have to imagine most of the revenue from the bigger resorts is from out of state guests who would not be able to quarantine in most situations.

    Planning on running 1-2" most of CT with 2-4" NE & NW.

    It looks really good. I always worry about these late bloomer precip shields from a follow up s/w. Seen too many go down in flames at the last minute.
