  1. Hadley cell...drink! The bolded part above has been blatantly obvious for a while now. The transition seasons seem to be on the chopping block as the climate changes. Spring more so than fall in my opinion.
  2. Someone remind me, am I remembering the last couple fall seasons correctly in that they featured a perfect winter-like pattern? Super active with LPs passing through New England every few days or so. Then come winter we lose the pattern in early December and whine about how great the pattern was in October. That sound about right? Starting to wonder if we are about to do that again? Guidance is certainly hinting at an active pattern of troughiness for the eastern half of the continent. Take a look at that persistent trough in today's GFS. The Ensemble means appear to me to be hinting at a longwave trough in the eastern 1/2 for September. Would be disappointing if that unfolds again.
  3. It's going to be hilarious when the warm front doesn't make it to NYC and we all read Wiz's diatribe about "never getting excited for severe in SNE again" post. Only for him to start a thread for Saturday.
  4. Good luck tomorrow. Hoping for some stratiform rain on the wrong side of the warm front here.
  5. who cares / who cares here It's hot and humid and it can go F itself. Give me 75 and no humidity like tomorrow!
  6. ...SCATTERED STRONG TO SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS POSSIBLE BETWEEN NOON AND 8 PM THIS EVENING WITH THE GREATEST RISK ACROSS CONNECTICUT RHODE ISLAND AND SOUTHEAST MASSACHUSETTS...
  7. Marginals Sat-Mon. A slight risk today, D3 and a severe for day 5. Will Wiz sleep at all this week?
  8. My other struggle is that I can not for the life of me find a good west facing vantage point along route 3.
  9. I'm just southwest of exit 4. I know the feeling. It sounds nice though.
  10. 2nd thunderstorm of the day that has initiated 4 miles to my north. Pretty consistent theme this summer with t-storm initiation on the Nashua/Merrimack border.
  11. Find the CT River valley? Edit: And Hudson River valley?
  12. If you showed someone a visible satellite image of the Atlantic and said "circle the two tropical storms" it would probably be tough. The year of crappily organized thunderstorms with a name continues.
  13. I see the rich got richer in the rain department yesterday.
  14. That cell moving through Townsend and Pepperell is loud. Can really here it rumbling while the sprinkles fall here.
  15. We must be on the same axis. Watching radar there was a zone in central ASH that got porked. The ground is wet. Maybe 0.10-0.20" for my house. Other's soaked.
  16. If this isn't the year of ugliest tropical systems I can remember. Just crap system after crap system.
