  1. So I get to the office yesterday morning and the internet is out. Annoyingly, we're pretty dead in the water without internet. So I caught the 2:15 train out of the city and back to southern New Hampshire. It's 330 pm on a 50F and semi-misting day, so I figure there will be no one at the course and I'll get in my first 18 of the year. I show up and the parking lot is jammed. Turns out leagues have started. Luckily, there are two 18s and one of the 9s was open. I was by myself with no one in front of me or behind me by at least 3 holes. I played 3 or 4 balls on each hole. So 9 turned into 27-36. Played those 9 in 2 hours and got home in time for the wife. Was a good late afternoon.
  2. Sent my clubs into the shop this past weekend. Getting them shortened by 3/4". They had an extra 2" in them, but last year I changed set up to have a more athletic swing and I started hitting things heavy. So shortening to account for that.
  3. Love this thread. Last year was the best golf season of my life. Got my handicap down to a 3. Shot even par for the first (i make a lot of pars, not enough birdies). Golf shop near me just put in two of those trackman machines. I was over there the other day, thinking about tinkering with the length of a few of my clubs, and the guy put me in the trackman bay. My 7 iron ball speed averaged 127.8 mph. Apparently that's quite a bit faster than the average tour pro: https://blog.trackmangolf.com/trackman-average-tour-stats/ Only problem is my that my spin rate was like 1500 rpms higher. So definitely need to find a lower spinning ball.
  4. Love March snowstorms. Pavement is wet and its melting already. Bring on golf season.
  5. Looks like I was too bullish. Except for the Cape. Screwed that up
  6. Both of you guys are pretty bullish. I like it! Hope it works
  7. If this mega band could start to pivot around to NW-SE then I might make a run at 2'.
  8. Finally got into some good dendrites the last hour. First 6 hours were crappy crystals.
  9. LOL at this storm. Two mega bands died on my doorstep and now the next one forms on my back porch. Can't win.
  10. If our storm center wanted to magically start gaining some latitude that'd be great.
  11. That metro west band dissolved faster than a thunderstorm crossing 495 in the summer.
  12. Metro west band is dissolving. It was slo close I could reach out and touch it. Oh well.
  13. My sleepy brain when I woke up was like "Damn, screw zoned".
  14. When I woke up I was backpeddling......but now that that band is moving nw I think I have to stick with it. (If we end up as the Pivot then look out)
  15. That first mega band seems to be on the move. Shift NW pretty quickly. Actually kinda not really a band anymore. Just filled in and moving NW. First inch of snow was pretty heavy here. Winds are gusting good too. Stronger than I thought.
  16. About to cause Tippy some heartburn......but Boxing Day is a top 5 analogue based on our 24 from the CIPS page.
  17. My goodness. I would not want to be a forecaster in Brookhaven or Albany..........starting to wonder if precip shield ever gets to them
  18. According to mesoanalysis the storm center has dropped from 1004 mb to 996 mb in the last 4 hours. Bombing out has commenced.
  19. This!!! I just posted on facebook asking anyone who has the capabilites to do this. Last map before the storm. Everyone enjoy this.
  20. I keep telling my parents and everyone back in Brockton that they are probably going to take it on the chin with this one. Told my father that his snowblower probably isn't tall enough.
  21. Dec 9th 2005 takes the cake for me as my favorite storm. I left Brockton high at 2 pm that day. It was raining when I walked out of the building. By the time I got to my bus a minute later it was sleeting. By the time we left the parking lot 5 mins later snow was mixing in. Three mins after leaving parking lot it was a whiteout. Got off the bus at around 220 and had to walk in the middle of the road to try to get home. The walk home was the craziest thing I have ever seen. We couldn't see cars coming at us that were 15 feet in front of us. The best part was all the cloud to ground lightning that was striking around us. This went on for about an hour and I probably picked up a good 4 inches in that hour. My favorite winter memory here and it is going to take something insane to top it.
  22. Everything is rotating!! This is insane and out of control.....everyones thoughts and prayers have to go out to all those affected by this incredible last couple of days.
