  1. Yeah but you know how us weather nerds like to jump right past the point and digress further into nerdom.
  2. It would work for me except my wife would not let me leave state employment after 26 years! She likes snow too but not as much as the pension in 4 more years!
  3. Was just thinking the same thing, actually I thought both things lol
  4. Freezes don’t matter on your hill anyway since you can’t grow anything.
  5. It’s one of the smells of summer to me. I wouldn’t say I “like” it but it does evoke a lot of good memories.
  6. https://www.washingtonpost.com/nation/2019/09/09/bahamas-survivors-visa-ferry-stranded-cpb/ Edit: This was a "business decision" by the ferry company. Still sucks and I will note that there have been bi-partisan calls to waive visa requirements for refugees. I'm not making a political comment.
  7. MPV at 41° My car thermo bounced between 41° and 46° on the way in to work.
  8. In VT 1927 Flood 1938 Hurricane 1998 Ice Storm 2007 VDay Snowstorm 2011 TS Irene I listed the first two even though I obviously wasn’t around because they had such a profound impact that I remember hearing stories growing up from people who were there and seeing remnants of the damage from them. They were the two biggest weather events of the 20th century.
  9. Looks like I start my annual, irrational, with no supporting evidence fear of the rubber band snapping back from cool to record mild for the entire winter early this year.

  12. It was until today. Saturn was cloudy on and off but yesterday was as close to perfection as you can get. Today just means they’ll spend more time and money at the Cabot Cheese Annex, Lake Champlain Chocolate Outlet and the brewery gift shops on their way out of town.
  13. Early morning was beautiful and later in the evening was too. In between, not so much. I was messing around at the golf course and the skys were clear and the temps were cool. 58 at 7:00 when I left.
  14. I was thinking the same. Cool and cloudy since my “beautiful morning” post.
  15. Up to 61f after a low of 48f. Absolutely beautiful morning.
  16. The all dew crew tried to warn us.
  17. That train is pretty comfortable. We took the Eurostar to Brussels earlier this month. Even the long check in lines at St. Pancras went smoothly. I was hoping the Chunnel would be more interesting but it's just another tunnel.
  18. I took 2.5 weeks off from playing while on vacation in Germany. Came back and it felt like I had never played golf before. I shot my highest score for 9 holes in over 10 years. I think I've started getting some semblance of a game back but I'm almost afraid to tee it up.
  19. We joke about it but I have seen some trees changing that seem to be more than just the usual stressed ones. Nothing major and not widespread but I do notice it.
  20. Same here with limited options. I'm thinking of just doing internet TV. Its not just cable and dish companies that do it. Everyone has the sweetheart deals for new customers but nothing for retaining customers unless you make a big stink.
  21. Ugh, Spectrum. I'd love to get rid of them and probably will for TV but I'm stuck with them for internet. $200 a month for cable and internet. I know I could reduce the cable package to save a few $$ but I dislike them on general principle. I hate the way they stick it to existing customers while giving new customers deals.
  22. Couldn’t have had a much nicer stay in Cologne and Berlin for the last week. Only a little bit of rain Saturday in Cologne but otherwise beautiful weather, mostly sunny and highs most days in the mid 70’s. Currently 66/55 in Berlin. Heading back to London tomorrow and flying back to BOS on Thursday.
