  1. I got a drought busting 0.02" a couple of days ago - desperately need something. Glad you got something in your bucket! This morning's low of 51.6 felt legitimately chilly...the dryness (sadly) helped temps tank last night.
  2. Didn't amount to much out my way...0.17" but did drop the temp into the upper 60s which was obviously nice. Hope it gains some more juice as it heads east.
  3. I hit 90 on the nose a few days ago; the highest it got last year was 85.9. My lil window air conditioner is yelling uncle.
  4. Our highest of the year so far at 90.3 and with 0.23" of precip since June 22nd, the sand dunes will be burying the lifts over at Wisp.
  5. I was at OBX for a few days and when I got home late last night, it was downright fall like with the breeze and felt so refreshing. I did manage to hit 90.0 on the nose two days ago imby (missed it since I was out of town) - first one since I moved here in 2022. Driving through your neck of the woods, the streams are nonexistent and here too, for that matter. 1.08" in the last 5 weeks and looks like a dry one until at least late next week. Tough summer so far.
  6. Maybe some relief on the way…
  7. We always say this during the winter (10 days away!). Now it appears as though this is a year-round chant
  8. 83.8 today, not bad out here. Nice breeze which helped while cutting the grass. Heading to OBX tomorrow for a week. Hope we get some rain while I'm gone or it'll look like the sand dunes on 12.
  9. And you almost made it to the 4s, dangit. 45.9 here.
  10. 72.5 for a high. Went to Blackwater Falls for a late afternoon hike after work and was just spectacular. Upper 40s here is a good bet tonight. Interesting to see where it lands (and if Canaan NWR can fall to the upper 30s).
  11. I am starting a culinary arts program at Garrett College this fall and am testing out many different recipes. I needed some real San Marzano tomatoes and the only place I could think of that carried what I was looking for was Whole Foods in Pittsburgh. Husband and I took the ‘Stang, rolled down the windows, pulled up a great classic rock playlist and drove 4 hours. For tomatoes. And it was frickin awesome.
  12. 0.29”. Kinda meh across the board. Looks like the atmosphere will be super juicy this weekend. I’ll ask nicely - pretty please.
  13. 76.5/64.3 at 12:30. Underperforming temps a bit here in Garrett County which is fine - just want a good drenching. The hail and toppled trees can come some other day.
  14. I almost made it...50.2. Dangit.
  15. At least Christmas Eve future is now closer than Christmas Eve past.
  16. Unlike many of you, I managed 0.56" of badly needed rain last evening. Interestingly, it came in two waves: each was 0.28". High yesterday was only 80.6 and DPs are now headed down for a beautiful day on tap. Spent the morning yesterday hiking in Canaan which beat the hell out of 98/99 in the concrete jungle. Hoping we all cash in Wednesday on some rain...
  17. 88.3 for a high today here in MLP (oddly, slightly lower than yesterday). Glad so many obs hit the century mark along 95 to make it worth our while.
  18. Interesting - my 88.7 yesterday was the warmest thus far this year. Thought you woulda hit 90 by now. “Heat dome” has now surpassed “base state” as the most overused met term. Let’s hope someone breaks the century mark after hearing about the heat (endlessly) to make this bout at least noteworthy.
  19. Same exact hi temp as yesterday - 87.3. Really thought I’d hit 90 today seeing that I hit 80 by 9:20 am. Good thing I’m not a met.
  20. What you just said! I spent all evening outside in the yard yesterday and can only imagine how awesome it was at the lake. Already cracked 80 IMBY this morning, about 6 degrees ahead of yesterday. I am thinking 90 (or even a little above) will be well within reach. Doesn't feel very humid even w/a DP of 70.7, so just another awesome summer day. Wouldn't mind a thunderstorm tho as things are starting to get a little crunchy.
  21. 87.3 today which is the warmest so far this year and warmer than any day in 2023 (tops last year was 85.9). DP is 69.4 which is also a high for the year (by far). DP didn't rise above 70 here last year except for 2 days in late July IMBY. Feels like a legit summer day; looking forward to being outside after work.
  22. Exactly what I was thinking. Got down to 43.3 here this morning - thought a few days ago I might be able to kiss the 30s for a final time before the fall, but still spectacular. Now it's time to rev things up.
  23. 48.7 beautiful degrees this morning. Think I could hit 38-39 early next week before it revvs up. Had a buddy of mine swing by, helping correct my arcing slice this morning at the course (Lodestone). Admittedly, a little bit of a surprise…
  24. 0.62" before sunrise for a 3 day total of 2.08". Perfect soaking, coming in waves (and fortunately didn't have to deal with the severe weather many of you did). 70 and sunny w/no humidity on Saturday. Om, yes please.
