  1. Interestingly in MLP, temp has remained steady at 33.9, but DP rose from 15.5 to 21.4 in the last few hours.
  2. 31.8/15.6 in southern Garrett County. This will be an interesting next 36 hours out here.
  3. 20.1 for the low in MLP. Currently 30.9/15.4.
  4. I so agree with you. I'm in Mountain Lake Park (Garrett Co) which is in a bit of a bowl so I am afraid I am going to maximize the amount of ice in comparison to the ridges...drove around this morning and noticed the multitude of tall evergreens teetering over the power poles (just moved here in October). This has the potential IMBY to be quite disruptive. We shall see how long the power holds out.
  5. 30.5/27.1 with 0.3” overnight. Reallllly hoping the higher end ZR totals for southern Garrett County don’t verify later in the week. Candles are fun ‘n all, but…
  6. Pretty interesting 3-4 week disco from CPC: https://www.cpc.ncep.noaa.gov/products/predictions/WK34/
  7. Good morning from the tundra that is Mountain Lake Park! 13.4/3. Half inch last night (or so) freshening up the 1-2 on the ground. Your average fall day lol. side note: got home late last night from chasing the LES in Buffalo. Pretty damn epic with the 3 different bands that came through - each one producing thundersnow. IMBY there, I measured a total of 46.5 inches. Just south of me, reports of over 80 which I drove thru getting back. For us weenies, can’t recommend enough adding this to your bucket list.
  8. I can confirm this. For a period, it felt like a June thunderstorm with the thunder rattling the house and impressive lightning. Continued for hours. Had a couple good strikes nearby when I was shoveling earlier this morning, too. I’m in West Seneca NY for the storm. Best action is south of me but IMBY, at 25” so far. Will likely end up in the 40”-45” range
  9. 0.78” in MLP. Nearly all ended up falling as ZR. Missed the snow so headed up to Buffalo to chase the LES event. Hopefully threaded the right needle with the spot I picked - talk about a brutal northern cutoff lol.
  10. Trying to post the pic but image is too big…but 10 minutes after the snow began, pingers. All damn pingers…
  11. Well that didn't take long...SN now. Immediate stickage on the roads. Should be a fun few hours.
  12. Radar says I should be seeing something based on decent KPBZ returns, but nada yet (Mountain Lake Park, el 2,483 ft). Would be nice to see a decent front end before it turns to slop.
  13. I’m going to be chasing from Maryland…if there are folks meeting up (hotel etc), let me know. PM me if you get a sec.
  14. Yes (dead serious). I know I am not a known entity on this board but if anyone wants to join forces and stay at the same hotel, etc. PM me. Just bought a new 4WD and ready for an adventure. Chased the Boston storm in January and itching for an epic LES event.
  15. I’m not a frequent poster as I just like to read and learn, but I have done something similar. I couldn’t stand living in MoCo for many of your stated reasons and moved out to Mountain Lake Park (Garrett County) due in no small part that I love snow and just wanted a slower pace. While certainly not completely off the grid, I found myself saying “I need to go to into town…” and just smiled. I got 1.6” of upslope yesterday and loved every flake. Glad to hear you took the plunge and all the best to you and your wife. Keep the pictures coming of your progress.
  16. I’m in Richmond while the hubby is in MLP. Was 77 here in RIC and mid 40s back home. Coming back tomorrow will be a shock!
  17. Still yellow with NWS, but got some dark greens with the folks at WPC…

  19. Nice! It came down legit moderate snow for about 5 minutes just a short while ago in MLP with the wind roaring since many trees still have leaves. It will be interesting to see what the morning brings. Point forecast has me at 2 inches. Hope to verify!
  20. @jonjon I’m seeing the same in Mountain Lake Park.
  21. Couldn’t stand it living in Maryland so got the last Acela out of DC and barreling towards South Station. Love the commentary and insight. It’s show time - lets get the party started. Cheers to something we’ll be telling stories about 20 years down the road.
  22. Serious consideration for upgrade to Blizzard Warning tomorrow per LWX disco out here in the Allegheny Front. Should be intense regardless of the headlines.
  23. Due to wind, estimated 5.5 at Deep Creek. Beautiful, snowy afternoon but the spigot has been turned off for now. Hoping the upslope tomorrow brings a nice second round. Fun day.
