  1. Ended up with 0.82" in the bucket yesterday and like @aldie 22, hoping for more. @high risk MBY as well - just had it reseeded, so a few days in a row of a good dousing won't hurt my feelings.
  2. Damn. 0.59" in 14 minutes. Needed the rain but that was pretty intense.
  3. 37.8 this morning and topped out at 76.8 this afternoon. Days like this: wall to wall sunshine, no bugs, no humidity, slight pleasant breeze is like chicken soup for the soul. Rolled down the windows, cranked up the sound and drove to Davis for an early dinner. Just perfect outside.
  4. Frosty. Bottomed out at 34.7 IMBY. At Canaan NWR, got down to 21.9 lol.
  5. I was on what looked like the tip of a mini bow and had a gust to 51 mph. Lots of low rumbling thunder and C2C lightning out here in southern Garrett County. Gentle rain for a thunderstorm tho with 0.24" so far. Very light rain currently.
  6. 1.21" for a good soaking (3.35" for the month so far). The leaf out is nearly complete and the garden is in. Good timing.
  7. Just missed the training last night in Garrett County but still managed 0.89" with a few more drops today for a total event of 0.97". Perfect amount but chilly today with a stiff breeze and temps steady in the upper 40s. Looking forward to next week
  8. Managed to eek out 0.38" today - anything as things are greening up here in the Boonies helps. Should get some more later. Chilly at 56 currently.
  9. Unexpectedly, today turned out quite pleasant with no rain IMBY after early this morning and lots of sunshine, although it was humid (for here). Have tallied 0.73" so far in the bucket the last few days which greened up the grass nicely.
  10. Felt like I lived in Ely today. 47.5/84.9. Spectacular.
  11. 28.2 - another beautiful, crisp morning with zero wind. Love.
  12. 24.5 this morning - was so crisp and beautiful.
  13. ^^I am thinking the same thing. It was 82 here in the Boonies today although we are still drying out from last week's deluge so the dry part isn't applicable here (yet). The warmest it got all last year was 86 IMBY. Hopefully this isn't an omen.
  14. This whole system has been very dynamic. Other than the thundersnow I experienced in Nov of '22 in the epic Buffalo LES event, I had never experienced thundersnow. Until yesterday IMBY. To me at least, that's one of - if not the - coolest weather phenomenon there is.
  15. The sun/snow/sun cycle didn’t exactly make for good sledding but it sure did make for pretty scenes throughout the day. This was after a snow shower late yesterday.
  16. So...question about measurements. Around lunchtime, I was on an endless Teams meeting and we had about 45 minutes of fairly heavy snow. It looked like it was nearly an inch but by the time the meeting was over, the sun returned and most of it melted. How would I account (or not) for that?
  17. We have had several rounds of moderate snow come through. I was surprised at the latest one - temp dropped from 34 to 31 and it quickly accumulated on elevated surfaces. Once it stops, the sky brightens and quickly fades away. Spring in the Boonies
  18. 1.98" for the day and 4.27" for the event so far. Fairly significant flooding in parts of GC. Front has passed through and temps are slowly dropping (now 40.5/38.6). Should be good for some spring snow although I'd be shocked at my elevation if it amounts to much. I'll be heading to Davis and Canaan tomorrow afternoon as soon as I'm done with work to see what it looks like up in the valley.
  19. This has been, by far, the biggest overall rain event since I moved to the Boonies in October of 2022. 1.49" so far today and a storm total since Monday morning of 3.78". Currently raining about a third of an inch per hour but earlier this morning, it briefly touched nearly 2". The storm's caboose looks to provide a sloppy April snow show keeping the need for any post-winter sunscreen for my bald head at bay.
  20. I hope you got home in good shape! 70 is such a peach with the rain and trucks. The bucket is now at 2.15" and rising with the latest round coming through. Step, squish. Repeat.
  21. 0.49" since midnight and 1.79" since yesterday. Smaller streams are flowing at near capacity so it'll get interesting if we get some heavier returns later.
  22. Lots of elevated instability early this morning with off and on T&L although it is quiet now. 48.9 with 1.06" in the bucket so far.
  23. Legit winter morning here. Light snow, 22.6 for a low and lotsa wind. Had about a half-inch-ish which quickly disappeared w/the high of 40.3. Been a while since it felt like winter (since it technically still is) but the ski resorts have closed up shop and as much as I love snow, time to move on.
  24. We had some intense squalls yesterday, but the warm ground caused a lot of it to melt in between snow showers prior to dusk. I am estimating 3" on the ground this morning. And like the rest of us, the wind was relentless.
