Yeah you do and you have every right to do it. And every other citizen has a right to do that whether you agree with them or not. I’m not sure how Nike entered this discussion, ya. I stand for the flag but I am fully supportive of others if they don’t. If someone wants to do a handstand instead, that’s there right. Anyway, this is what the 4th feels like. Hot and humid. And we are lucky to live in such a good society where we have enough free time to argue about stuff on a weather forum.

Yup. Rebellion is part of what made America what it is today. What led to the 4th of July was all about rebelling against an unwanted government. Celebrating the 4th while hating on people who stand up for what they believe in is an interesting dichotomy.

Must’ve been the same person calling for 90s every year from May through September.... there will never ever be a hot summer day forecast that goes unforecast by that person .
-
Ha yeah, I always love those who call it “dope” too... “Those skiers are smokin dope over there”.... not 1991 anymore.
-
Innsbruck is near tops on my list too. The wife and I have been considering a move as we don’t have kids yet and are still reasonably flexible.

89/64 max/min... place would be perfect for you and DIT. One of the better torch relative to normal spots you’ll ever find in New England. Last year it was 93/71 at BTV today though, ha.

84/55 at 4pm up here. Hot but relatively dry air mass.

Summer 2019 New England Banter and Disco

When the shadows creep... it's pretty crazy how much different the feel is between sun & shadow this time of year. In the direct sun it feels hot and humid, but in the shadow it feels almost chilly as there's a breeze under the Cu shadow. -
A list of the top CocoRAHS precipitation totals for May and June... it was a wet period but a lot of it was convective in nature. Plenty of nice weather mixed in there too. 14" near the center of Stowe.

Nice dude. Great stretch for summer activities. I was able to get a hike to 3,600ft with the dog and then a swim at home in, good stuff today.
-
Today was summer. Dews started around 60F then dropped into the 50s all afternoon and now rose back to 60F with afternoon temps hovering in the low-80s. Will be pretty close to mid-summer climo, which is likely a +2 day today as we aren't quite up to those late-July normals. Something like 83/57 for an observation is what I think of when I think of summer.
-
That can't be right can it? 2m Air Temp of 40F on July 2nd over Lake Superior, lol.
-
Hot up here. 79/61 right now. Should be good for 83-85F later this afternoon.

Something changed on June 26th... up here we only had 2 above normal days through the first 25 days of June, but then rattled off 4 of 5 days of +5< departures to end the month. June 25 was -6 followed by June 26 of +6 as the switch was flipped. A 69/48 day on June 25th after a string of below normal days.... followed by consecutive days of 83/59, 84/57, 85/56 ....that's warm in this locale. -1.6F departure for June though. It was a colder than normal month on the whole from the first 25 days.

Good lord. At least you made it weather relevant by stating your temp .

Just taking a wild guess, but I’ve got money on DIT calling for an extremely hot and humid summer in 2020, 2021 and 2022. Amazing how some can make the same forecasts for years on end between certain months. Almost like wishcasting? I’m not even against calls for a very very very humid summer, just wish there was something backing it up instead of making the same claim literally every year.

How does it look big big humid? Walk us through that with model data?

Summer 2019 New England Banter and Disco

I mean that is on another level of being wrong. Wow, that didn’t age well. -
Good views this afternoon as cells fired over the Spine. Felt like a summer weather pattern today despite cooler temps, 60f dews with rounds of brief, heavy thundershowers. Pretty fast storm motion, deep ULL, and solid lapse rates despite cooler surface temps... active day up this way but nothing severe or even close to it.

BTV honking for heat later this week... Remember they are talking about the Champlain Valley torch spots but even still, that's a hot forecast with the usual mountain towns reduction. && Long term /Wednesday through Sunday/... as of 334 PM EDT Sunday...continued consistent signals in the models for above normal temperatures in the mid to upper 80s with the potential for a few 90 degree days mid to late week. The next real chance for precipitation looks to arrive on Friday as subtle shortwave energy and sufficient moisture approach the area. Definitely looking like a hot, muggy day Friday as dewpoints approach 70 degrees with temperatures in the upper 80s to near 90.

High of 71F up here so far today...nice day that we managed only a couple brief showers/thunder cells and have had a decent amount of sunshine. Despite the high of only 71F, the dew has been around 60F providing a summery feel. Much different appeal than the 71/40 type days we enjoyed just a week or so ago.

The bugs have been pretty damn bad over this way too. On the mountain it's incredible, once at elevation they can just swarm you in calm conditions during the day. I have no idea what they are, black flies, or something else, but they are small and they bite & annoy en mass. Late afternoon and especially twilight, the mosquitoes at home are insane. Luckily up on the mountain/trails there's usually a breeze, and there's a very firm level at which point the bugs just disappear...maybe 10mph? It's funny, there's a certain wind speed at which the bugs just can't compete. Down here in town we are almost always calm and it's a feeding frenzy.
-
You live near ORH now right? The dew point is 68F there right now... The only reason I looked is because I thought it was still pretty humid up here (just dropped to 59F dew in a storm) and saw your post and thought you were enjoying some 53 degree dew point.

The lightning is ridiculous. Very close strikes. File this under "that escalated quickly" category from sunshine to very dark sky and torrential rain. But that exploded to a Warned cell in about 3 scans of the radar... from nothing to huge towers as it ran into the mountain. Good benefit of being immediately downwind of VT's highest peak is the thunderstorms that blow up over it drift down over town. Decent terrain component to today's storms that have been seemingly skipping over the Champlain Valley.

About to get smoked. This thing just exploded over Mansfield while walking the dog... I've never seen it go from full sun to a shooting tower so fast.
