  1. This is our 2nd season planting those on our back patio at home. We’re so happy with how well they do, especially with areas that get full sun in the afternoon. They’re still going strong.
  2. Temp down to 30 with winds gusting to 34 mph. First flakes flying.
  3. Debating if I want to drive out to Deep Creek and come back home tomorrow. 3-5” is nothing to sneeze at.
  4. Or being crowded at the grocery store/Target/Walmart....or at a rally/protest....etc. Lots of head scratching moments.
  5. Get that further east and its a blizzard for the mountains.
  6. Mountains should have their first real accumulating snow of the season Sunday night/Monday with upslope cranking. Pitt is mentioning the potential for needing advisories depending on guidance.
  7. Thanks. It’s the battery ring doorbell and a few battery powered spotlight cameras. Didn’t know that about the hardwired though!
  8. Nope, not yet...we like to sleep in cold temps.
  9. Looking at the Ring cameras...34 degrees with light rain changing to light snow in McHenry. First flakes of the season.
  10. 1.5" in the gauge at Deep Creek. Much needed.
  11. Last year had a cold November (-AO if i remember correctly) followed by...well we know what followed that. Not saying we should expect it to be 100% opposite of last year — but what happens in November doesn’t set the stage for the rest of the winter is my point.
  12. GFS has upslope snow showers for Garrett County & Canaan Sunday night into Monday. It’d be the first flakes of the season.
  13. front loaded especially if it means a white Christmas. Delayed usually means denied around here
  14. I still think we’ll ‘luck’ into a storm this year even if the indices say we’re fooked...its hard to have two back to back abysmal winters.
  15. While it was mostly snow TV for me in Arlington, with some ‘accumulation’ on mulch/etc, definitely a memorable storm given Sandy previously + the snow totals for the NW suburbs, exurbs, and mountains.
  16. 0.4” on the day. Temp up to 37 (should continue to rise overnight).
  17. That was the first year I started tracking storms on models and I remember thinking “geesh, what’s so hard about this...we keep getting perfect storm setups”. Ahhh - then reality set up in subsequent winters...
  18. Cold powder with no mixing worries along/east of 95 with any storm in winter is a blessing, especially pre-Christmas.
  19. Don’t worry, we’ll get ours soon. I’m happy CBS changed the Pittsburgh market to the Denver game so I can watch it later.
  20. A 6a high of 40 and currently down to 36 with a stiff ESE wind. 0.14” of rain on the day. If only it was a few degrees cooler.
  21. 3a high of 62 then winds shifted out of the NW and temps dropped - currently 47 with low clouds/fog and a few showers. Great day to make a stew.
  22. Thanks! Yeah, their name changed a few years ago (can’t remember what they used to be called).
  23. Anyone get their thanksgiving turkeys from Shonuf Farm in Fulton, MD? They get good reviews and we’re looking to get a farm fresh turkey this year. http://www.shonufturkeys.com
  24. It’s a bit ironic that trick or treating is cancelled on the one day people actually wear masks/costumes covering their face. Ob: sunny and warm
