  1. Vort is stronger on the GFS vs 18z. Closed off at 500 at H90. ETA: Aaaaaaand there she goes off the coast. Nothing outside of extreme SE VA.
  2. From my weenie eyes, the exiting low is creating a brief 50/50 and with a bit more separation, game on.
  3. Never say never! RIC could see 700” of snow this year
  4. 00z GFS flips the mountains to snow Saturday night. Verbatim jackpots Snowshoe with 4-6”. Canaan with 2-4” and Deep Creek with 1-2”. Also flips N MD to some frozen as the low pulls away.
  5. I’ll stick huge fans on the 10” of snow I got this week to blow cold air towards I-95 for a backside flip!
  6. Hard to measure with the strong winds/blowing snow but would guess between 7-8” so far. Wisp has been making snow all day too so hopefully getting a good base down. currently 23 with mod snow.
  7. I can’t hear you all over the snow falling outside....what’d you say?
  8. Should we start looking at the weeklies to worry about when it’ll break down?
  9. Yeah, light snow. Measuring will be impossible with the wind.
  10. If its the Lakestar Lodge in McHenry, I know exactly where that is (only about 5 minutes from our house). It’s in a great location on the northern most part of the lake...you can walk down to a few restaurants and the arcade/etc for kids. It always seems crowded when I drive by in summer.
  11. 33 and ready for the 6-8” LWX is forecasting.
  12. 0.5” so far and 40 degrees. LWX upgraded Garrett County to a WSW overnight. NWS Pitt did the same for Canaan.
  13. I could see the highest ridges in WV around Snowshoe get isolated reports up to 8-10”...I like LWX’s call of 4-6” here (6-8” if I’m lucky). I’m hoping there are some surprise bursts of snow showers on Tuesday for the far western suburbs to get others in on some action too.
  14. New England forum seems on edge. On November 29, too.
  15. 29 for the low. Up to 47 under full sun. Great morning to finish putting deck furniture in the shed. GFS drops 4-8” through mid-week out here/WV mountains...Wisp/Canaan should be able to pump lots of man made snow during this pattern (in addition to multiple upslope chances) to build a good base to get the season started.
  16. That’s why we get an artificial tree...don’t want to deal with fire hazards. Oh and those needles are annoying.
  17. You must be new here. 300 hour looks ALWAYS work.
  18. Let me count the ways this won’t work.
  19. The upcoming advertised pattern is textbook upslope for the mountains in MD/WV. Great for Wisp and Canaan to start their seasons off with a bang.
  20. Family all arrived a few hours ago...enjoyed the quiet while it lasted. Good thing there is plenty of wine and liquor. Happy Thanksgiving-eve y’all.
  21. I’ve been rewatching a bunch of episodes lately...such a great show!
  22. Since I need a break from Thanksgiving prep, I was looking at the 18z GFS for S&G....H192 has four different closed 500 lows across the CONUS. While interesting to see, it also shows just how volatile and difficult this period will be to nail down re: specifics/surface on an operational run ~200 hours out.
  23. I know, it was pretty boring when it came to actual precip depiction. To Bristow’s point, fun to at least ‘track’ something even if its a more conducive pattern that may not translate into anything outside the mountains.
