Point and click forecast for me is 2-4” of snow/sleet and 0.1” ice. I’m excited. Hopefully we get some decent upslope snow showers since I’ll flip to rain eventually for a bit late Saturday afternoon and evening before the hammer drops around midnight Saturday into Sunday.

Had the same thought re: watch/warning vs advisory. Still think they go with Advisory given the uncertainty. But I could see a watch initially for the favored areas and see if there is consensus for warning.

Yep, gotta side with climo with this CAD setup. You’ll stay below freezing for the duration, “warm” up for a few hours into the low to mid 30s, before the cold arrives again Sunday AM. 3k keeps me at Deep Creek below 32 until mid afternoon Saturday with about 0.6” as frozen QPF. While I’d love all snow, these mix events are kinda fun. At least it’ll feel like winter!

Also keeps the areas near @losetoa6 below freezing until early hours of Sunday.

From what I understand it’s rock salt, magnesium chloride and water mixture. Also terrible for your car.

Same on 395 and many roads around here. Gotta use up that budget! Such a waste of $ and terrible for the Bay.

Not hating the GFS or NAM for Deep Creek. I’m rooting for over performing WAA (especially for the rest of the forum) and surprise upslope on Sunday.

I have to take the train this evening to NYC (yuck) for some meetings tomorrow AM up there. Going to watch the game from a bar up there...shouldn't be too hard to find one with the game on since they're playing Jersey.

GFS looks wetter when it matters for most in the region, especially NE MD. It's 0.5"+ frozen QPF for western MD. 'Trended' wetter the past two runs out there.

Since we'll never see a HECS again, that's a true statement!

Thanks for the maps. With the mesos getting into range today/tomorrow, it’ll be interesting to see the trend in precip & temps. 6z GFS juiced up in western MD (now drops 0.4” of frozen QPF). Hopefully that continues.

No...very limited ICON info on TT so basically only know if its liquid or frozen.

It’s hard to put much stock in the ICON but it gives Deep Creek over 1” of frozen QPF. I’m just rooting for an interesting event knowing that it won’t be all snow.

00z NAM is a pretty decent wintry event, especially for western areas. CAD really looking entrenched east of the Apps. Deep Creek gets 0.6-0.7” of frozen QPF on the NAM.

We've got a house out there and will be there this weekend. Agree that this season has been pretty terrible there...probably around 20-25" so far when they average north of 110" for the year. Way too much would need to change for this to be all snow. A lot of variables at play for how much frozen precip we get there (WAA precip amounts, how long the low level cold sticks around) but it does seem likely we'll see a frozen event there. Will guess we see a little snow then sleet/ice. Probably some rain in the afternoon, depending on how long the cold hangs on. Once the winds shift from the NW overnight into Sunday, we'll see upslope snow showers.

I'm in Deep Creek this weekend so tracking this for out there. 18z GFS was 0.5-0.6" QPF frozen. Temps go above freezing shortly after 18z Saturday there.

Yep, pretty much locks up he'll be moving on. I worry about trading him and losing the playoff experience in a goalie behind Sam.
