  1. Maybe I missed it, but where did I/anyone belittle or make fun of anyone who is scared about the virus? What I didn’t miss is a post calling out people for showing how awful of a human we are - which is certainly irony at its finest.
  2. Already 61. Forecast high of 78....a nice +24 departure from normal.
  3. Anyone with experience getting rid of bamboo? The house we’re buying has bamboo that is priority #1 in the landscaping dept. to get rid of. I’m inclined to just hire a landscaper to take care of it since it seems like a nightmare to handle - the only good news is that its not a large area since they only planted it about 2.5 years ago. But there are already lots of rhizomes so want to take care of this ASAP once we close in 2 weeks.
  4. This is exactly what I was going to say. I have a feeling that even if most people (who want it) are vaccinated in 30-60 days (the President said in May which would be fantastic), there will still be calls for “now isn’t the time to open up....we still need to be vigilant” and the hamster wheel will continue.
  5. Bowser still saying no fans at Nats Park but that ‘could change’. The Navy Yard area bars and restaurants would get a nice boost by allowing fans - plus all the workers at the ballpark, too. Same for Camden Yards.
  6. Another great evening to fire up the grill. I’d love for this stretch of weather to continue all month.
  7. Aside from a brief two day period of BN temps early next week, 6z GEFS is wall to wall average to AN 2m temps. It seems aside from the favored areas, winter is over (I’m not buying frozen in the cities early next week).
  8. Whew, Vrana with the game winner in OT. But geesh, they played like sht in the 3rd period.
  9. What a disaster of a period....Devils are owning them.
  10. And these are the games we have to get 2 points from, too.
  11. I was on the phone with my parents catching up but seeing the replays now during Intermission...what a pass like you said. He’s 1 point from 500 I think?
  12. Awesome MD lifting restrictions on churches, restaurants, etc on Friday. No capacity restrictions, great news!
  13. Gross. That'd be 40s and drizzle for days for here.
  14. Beautiful outside. Almost 70. Windows open. Suck it, winter.
  15. Down here in the urban jungle, it’s almost 90 already. The anti-PSU mountain.
  16. My daffodils will definitely bloom this week with the warm weather. Buds look ready to open.
  17. and only 15 months until Summer 2022
  18. Seems like DC is following you
  19. I watched a bit of it in the 1st and 2nd. Definitely looked better in the 2nd. Awesome win for us.
  20. Sitting out on the patio with a beer - actually considering throwing a pair of shorts on it feels so warm in full sun.
  21. Next weekend looks beautiful on the GFS
  22. We know how this will end for the cities/low lands. Miserable 42 degree drizzle when our average high is over 60 by the end of the month. Meanwhile PSU will tell us how his mountain got 10” but “just down the street” only managed an inch of slush. I hope that look breaks down.
  23. Helpful perspective especially given your experience in the industry. Our realtor recommended him (and has used him countless times both for client projects and stuff he’s done in his home) and suggested we add the clause...I hadn’t heard of it but after doing research online yesterday, apparently it is a thing (unsure how it impacts the relationship though). I definitely understand your POV but just trying to protect us from having to live through a renovation that takes 6 months instead of 8 weeks. I actually like his payment terms as he is leaving final payment as 25% so I guess that would incentivize him to finish it on time. I’ll see what he says back to my ask and go from there. Definitely agree with your point on communication...we won’t be living in the house for the first 5 weeks but I’ll be stopping by enough to check on progress/escalate/etc. I probably sound like an annoying customer but I’ve heard of enough horror stories that I won’t leave this to chance Thanks for the perspective, appreciate it!
