  1. Just dumping massive flakes here. Lol. Too bad it won't last long.
  2. Yep...finally first winter precip of the day.
  3. CAD hates my location on Beech. Lol. 35 with a DP of 35.
  4. What I've noticed since we've had our place here for the past 4 winters in that Beech is on the west fringe of the CAD zone. When CAD is building it seems to have no problem getting to my location but once it starts to erode I warm up very quickly while Blowing Rock just to my west stays much colder. So I'm hoping for an overperforming system for my area since the high pressure feeding the CAD is pretty much anchored and not just sliding out to sea.
  5. Getting nutting temp fluctuations here at elevation. Was at 30 around 7p and then climbed to 34 by 950p and now have dropped to 28.0. Lost 6 degrees in the last 30 minutes.
  6. Wedge is on the move now. Getting gusts into the mid 20s now and my DP has dropped to 11 here at 4650 on Beech Mtn
  7. Oh also when CAD is decent my winds gust to 30+ consistently as I'm wide open to the east on the side of south facing Beech. Right now gusts are less than 10mph so CAD really hasn't got cranking yet.
  8. 30.6 with a DP of 19 here at 4650 on Beech. At my location as long as CAD is still strong I do OK but once CAD starts to die it's over for me. Tomorrow should be interesting to say the least.
  9. Best snow of the day happening right now here on Beech. Everything has a nice coating. Maybe 1/4 to 1/2 inch.
  10. 36 here at 4650 on Beech and precip is changing to sleet. Snow shouldn't be far behind
  11. Chilly 18 at 4650 on Beech with flakes still flying. Cam_East-222421-222431.mp4
  12. Ignore the audio as the webcam is located inside so I'm not sure what it's picking up. But you can get a feel for the snow fall. Front_Yard_Drive-082818-082831.mp4
  13. 29.2 here at 4650 on Beech. More than an inch but not quite 2 yet.
  14. 31.5 and pouring snow here on Beech. Maybe an inch so far.
  15. I'm thinking 1am tonight. Best and likely heaviest precip should be over early AM Monday.
  16. 12z GFS is mint for the mountains. This is the 24hr QPF ending 1am Tuesday. I would expect precip to be all snow above 4k feet in the northern mountains starting sometime near midnight tonight. Based on this QPF map, I would expect a likely 3-5 inches for areas above 4k feet especially the northern mountains.
  17. Grand total of an inch just down the hill from ya. Gotta love living on a SE slope. Even my 3300ft won't save me. Lol. Elevation is king...always
  18. Looks like about 7 inches or so here on beech at 4650. Still getting steady snow so could end up with 8 or 9 before it's over.
  19. Solid 5-6 inches or so here on Beech. Still snowing lightly.
  20. 33.1 and stray flakes flying here. First of the season.
  21. 35.9 here at 4650 on Beech. Bring on the first flakes of the season. Lol
