  2. the 1980's were colder than the 2010's-20's...the Oceans were colder too...from 1970-71 to 1989-90 NYC averaged 20.6" of snow...the 1990's with the help of 1993-94 and 1995-96 averaged around 25" a season...the last twenty years are averaging 32" a season...not to mention how many 20" snowfalls we had since 1996...

  5. off the top of my head there were two summers that had its hottest temprature of the summer on 9/22...1895 hit 97 and 1914 hit 95...1970 tied its hottest day on 9/22 with a 94...

  7. 1963 just missed being the driest year on record in NYC...1964 broke the record and became driest year on record...1965 broke that record by a lot to become the driest year on record...1966 was following the same theme but a September deluge broke the drought...
  8. since 1971 NYC is averaging over 50" a year...before that it was 42"...1956 to 1965 was the driest 10 years on record...the drought broke in Sept> 1966...

  10. less warmth is a good way to describe the coming cool down...gone are the days when July and August used to get heat relief with temperatures in the 50's in NYC...now its mid to low 60's...even in years when temperatures hit 100 or better there was a cool down into the 50's...

  15. the worst part of recovery is I have to keep my head down most of the time for at least a week...I cant sleep on my back...Im lucky it was fixed just in time...I got the chinese virus test and it was negative...if it was positive i would have gone blind in that eye because they would not do the operation...
  16. I'll be on the shelf for a while...I had a detached retina operation yesterday...don't know how it happened...old age does funny things...no pain but having a patch over one eye is...

  20. a few drops now...0.11" since last evening...we will get more wind than rain out of this...oh well...

I'm hoping this storm does not track west of the city...if it does we could see some strong winds from the south south east and less rainfall...I'd rather see more rain and less wind...not looking forward to power outages from this...Hazel in 1954 was a much bigger hurricane but tracked well west of the city...winds were clocked at 113mph on the roof of 17 Battery place in lower Manhattan...
