I think NYC picked up an inch from yeaterday into early this morning...there was a long gap between rain that started yesterday and the day before on the 30th that doesn't count...Rain this afternoon doesn't count...I have to see the official hourly precipitation amounts to add this to the table... its official now...NYC had exactly an inch from yesterday into this morning...this was the sixth 1" or greater event this year...

I bought one of those from the weather channel many moons ago...the plastic has turned somewhat yellow but still works...

nothing compares to July 1963 and 1964...both years came in with near 100 degrees on the 1st...1963 had a high of 98 in Central Park...then a min of 59 on the 4th and 54 on the 9th...then 97 on the 14th and 98 on the 27th...1964 was 99 on the 1st...then a low of 61 on the 5th...A max of 63 on the 9th...more heat on the 18th...that was the past...2021 is a warmer version...

that would be near record low max's if it happens...

64 was avery good year...it was 99 on the 30th and 1st...that was the hottest temp of that summer...August was very cool...

I have a Taylor min/max from 1987...was calibrated in 1992...I don't have a place to put my sheltor...I tried the shield in the front of the house but it was just as hot...

I miss my rainwise and nimbus set up I had when I lived on College Ave...my back yard is hot despite hving a pool...maybe the Sun reflecting off the water has something to do with it?...

101 on my little radiation shielded temp probe...96 in my shaded weather box at the same time...it was 98 on my taylow max/min thermometer hanging on a nw facing wall...to make a long story short its f-in hot outside...

I was as hot as Newark but mby is a hot spot...get rid of those little radiation shields and replace them with the old method of big sheltor box's...while we are at it use a mercury max/min thermometer.as a back up to the electronic one...have a real person take obs every hour...the old way was the better way...

the only thing that can save us it an easterly flow...
