  1. We should see at least some sun today with temps nearing 70 degrees for the first time since last Friday. We warm to well above normal this weekend with highs in the mid 70's before we fall back to well below normal temps as we move through next week.

  3. While mighty rare (only 6 times since 1893) the first measurable snow can occur in October here in Chester County PA. The last occurrence was in 2011 and was also the largest October snowstorm in county history. It was elevation driven with between 5" to 9" of snow falling across the stations over 550 ft ASL. Of note the October snow in 1972 in some areas of the county would for the most part be the only snow of the winter season. In fact at Coatesville that was the only winter that no measurable snow was recorded.

  9. Below are the all-time October Monthly records for Chester County. The Phoenixville 2007 temp looks about 3 degrees higher than all other stations....will look into that. So who remembers our Record October Snowstorm back in 2011? With 4" to 9" of snow across the County...with the most falling in the higher elevations?

  11. Happy Red October to those who celebrate - Go Phillies!! We finished with our 2nd straight below normal month here in Chesco. Another cloudy cool day today before we finally break out of the gloom starting later tomorrow. Sun and slightly above normal temps through the weekend.

  15. Today is our 5th straight day with measurable rain with .03" since midnight. Some additional shower chances this morning but mainly a cloudy damp and cool few more days ahead before we dry out by Wednesday. Of note we will finish September with our 2nd straight below average temperature month. This is our first back to back below average months since May and June in 2023.

  17. Our gloomy weather continues another 0.09" fell here in East Nantmeal since midnight. We have picked up 1.45" of rain so far this week. Rain chances continue though no wash out days through Tuesday. Today will be the relative warmest day of the week with temps reaching the low 70's. We fall back into the 60's for highs for most of the upcoming week.

Rain chances continue though no wash out days through Tuesday. Today will be the relative warmest day of the week with temps reaching the low 70's. Some additional steadier and briefly heavier rain should move through over the next couple hours especially NW parts of the county. Shower chances continue through Saturday AM before we dry out and cool down to start October.
