  1. This morning was our coldest readings since last January 17th with temperatures dropping to as low as 8.8 degrees at Nottingham and 9.8 degrees at Warwick Park. Today will be about 20 degrees below our normal high temperatures in the low to mid 40's. More spots tonight may drop into the single digits for low temperatures. Well below normal again tomorrow before we moderate back to close to normal for the remainder of 2024. There is a chance of a little snow toward Christmas Eve morning and again by Friday night.
  2. Not thinking (at least here in East Nantmeal) we will still have at least 1" on the ground come Christmas morning but....with another shot of a little snow on Christmas Eve morning we shall see. But below is the history of at least 1" of snow on the ground on Christmas Day. The below is for Coatesville 1SW (1893-1982) / Coatesville 2W (1983-2007) and East Nantmeal Township 2008 to Present. We have gone 12 years without a White Christmas. The longest stretch between such occurrences was the 16 years between 1930 till 1947.

  4. Winter began this morning at 4:21am. Snow amounts last evening and overnight ranged from between 0.8" to 2.0" across the area. Our coldest air of the season has moved in for the weekend. We should remain below freezing for the next 3 days before finally rising above freezing during Christmas Eve Day. We could see low temperatures by Monday morning as low as 5 degrees above zero. We could see another round of light snow overnight Monday into Christmas Eve morning. Temperatures look to rebound to near normal to close out Christmas Week.

  6. It amazes me how many folks on X / twitter seem to think that unless snow accumulates on their driveway or the road it is not accumulated snow!! Snowboards FTW!!!
  7. Another 0.25" since last report and now up to 2.0" for the day still snowing steadily temp at 30.6
  8. Just reported 1.8" to the NWS - still snowing steadily - season to date at 2.3" here in NW Chesco
  9. Just last February 2024....heavy wet snow.....did you miss that one???

  14. Huh? did you miss the 5" to 11" of snow across Chester County last February 13th??
  15. Steady snow across NW Chester County with our 2nd measurable snow of the year
  16. Snowing steadily now here across NW Chesco the temp is down to 32.5 degrees and the radar is filling in to the west.
  17. The latest HRRR if you dare to believe has a general 1" to 3" across the area....if that were to actually occur most would be pleased
  18. As usual I suspect this IVT will have a surprise or 2 up it's sleeve. I suspect the relative "jackpot" will run somewhere between NE Philly and Central NJ.....
  19. Some very light snow has already been reported across the area this morning. We should see light snow mixed with rain across SE portions of the area before becoming all snow toward evening. Snow amounts look light with between 0.5" to as much as 2.0" in spots. It is a difficult forecast for the NWS as the development of a norlun trough could enhance snow amounts for a targeted area this evening. Either way roads should remain just wet during the day with accumulations only on non-paved surfaces and temps a few degrees above freezing in lower spots. Some higher However, by nightfall temperatures will fall below freezing and depending on where the snow showers set up we could see some slippery conditions for a time overnight into Saturday morning. Our coldest weather of the young winter season arrives this weekend with low temperatures by Monday morning as low as 4 degrees above zero.

  21. Latest NAM shows "uh greatest" snowfall over Chesco and middle Delaware....time to get the blower gassed up!!
  22. It's not the norlun on that model....simply the relatively impressive upper level trough that digs as it moves from west to east. Not saying I buy this solution either!
  23. Euro tries to paint a general 2" to 5" event NW Of I95
