  1. IMHO all signs point to an above normal snow winter....despite above normal temps......see my Western Chesco analysis....the numbers can't lie......can they???
  2. I am thinking just like December we have above normal snowfall for both January and February....despite above normal temps
  3. Agreed! need to remember in January and early February is does not have to be well below normal for snow.....just the right track and strength and voila! What happens in December the winter remembers....keep the faith!!
  4. So here in Western Chester County PA we have already received 10.2" of snow this December. This is good for a top 25 December snow ranking with records back to 1894. So what does this potentially portend for the following snow season? funny you should ask....see the top snowy December months and the final snow season analysis below.
  5. Our 3rd snow with 0.3" here in December....does this count as a White Christmas?? need a ruling.....
  6. Some light snow temp 32.5 on VP 31.3 - Ambient and 31.3 on Tempest
  7. 2.01" storm total in East Nantmeal with 0.51" since midnight 61.0 for high at 142am - temp down 16 degrees over last 70 min now down to 37.9
  8. Temp up to 56.2....snow cover gone.....despite that I hope all of you and your families have a very Merry Christmas!! Happy Holidays!! Paul
  9. After 9 days of snow cover - today will be the last and we will have a green Christmas thanks to the Grinch Storm....
  10. How have folks been doing with the wind measurements - if you have other stations how does it compare? Mine is not mounted on the roof yet with my anemometer...so tough to compare so far - thanks!
  11. Beautiful sunset both in Western Chesco and in Sea Isle City splits were 44.9/35.4 in East Nantmeal and 48.4/38.4 down the shore
  12. An analysis from Dr Joe D'Aleo at WeatherBell - supporting some of the analytics I presented above for here in Western Chester County PA
  13. Very light rain across NW Chesco with a temp of 35.5 and DP 34.9
  14. With our 10th largest December snowstorm that fell last week on the 16th -17th (9.3") - what does that potentially mean for the ensuing winter snow season? What about December's with a storm greater than 6" during the year's final month?? Funny you should ask below are some statistical potential answers....
  15. I think the biggest difference is accuracy in the summer months.....with a fan aspirated shield you don't see the inflated warm readings that so many get siting their stations in the sun....without it you might almost record as many 90+ days as the PHL heat island records.....
  16. I think the most accurate is the Vantage Pro2 with the fan aspirated shield - I also have a Vantage Vue / Ambient and the Tempest....but VP2 is in my opinion the best although I just got the Tempest and need to evaluate that one a little more - hope this helps!
  17. With a little bit of elevation on a hill we don't radiate so while a couple miles away down at Marsh Creek lake level (400 ft asl) they have had several lows in the teens ...both here at 685 ft asl and at KMQS Coatesville Airport at 660ft we both had our 1st sub-20 day of the season.
  18. 1st Teens of the season this AM and first since February 21st - low was 15.9
