  1. What happens in December the winter remembers!! - Man I am pulling them all out today!! The weenies need all the help they can get!!!!
  2. Lock it up per the attached - as the old weather proverb states "snow in Spain equals snow on the coastal plain bringing much travel pain including places like Wayne" https://www.washingtonpost.com/weather/2021/01/09/madrid-spain-snow-blizzard/
  3. I think a lot of folks forget climatology unless you live North and West of the fall line you average in the low 20's for snow.....heck it's only January 9th - PHL (6.6") has more snow than Chicago (5.4") so far this season. On that note where I live in NW Chester County we average the same seasonal snowfall as Chicago....I always tell folks that and they are amazed. Almost all stations and location in our area all solidly above normal snowfall for the season to date. Keep the faith but remember where we live - we just completed a 2 of the snowiest decades in history in this area....that is what was NOT normal....we are simply trending back to normal - it is all cyclical and not all things lead to climate....which is why Ben Franklin liked to say people will always tell you it was colder and snowier when they were younger....he also early on understood that climate will always be changing!
  4. We have plenty of sufficient cold on the map....a suppressed storm track (always good in my book) and many storms or rumors of storms in our future.....this is not 2019/20....
  5. Of interest and perspective our snowfall through January 5th is the the 5th snowiest in the last 15 years.......
  6. Light rain and 34.8 here in East Nantmeal Twp - high so far today current temp VP has 0.27" (but suspect unmelted snow yet to drop) Tempest at 0.23" and Coco still has snow in funnel
  7. Now mixing with sleet - total snow/IP is 1.0" on all surfaces here in East Nantmeal Township
  8. 32.6 here in NW Chester County with moderate snow and big flakes - even accumulating on paved surfaces
  9. Of course most folks on this forum except the Jersey Shore are already well above normal snowfall for the season to date....keep the faith - what happens in December the winter remembers
  10. Total rain comparison from 1st storm of 2021 - CoCo gauge - 0.79" VP2 - 0.75" Tempest -0.97
  11. December 2020 Climate Summary for Western Chester County PA
  12. Same here temps continue to hold around the freezing mark with my 3 stations running between 31.8 and 32.7
  13. Some light ice accretions here in East Nantmeal VP down to 32.8 with Ambient and Tempest at 31.8 - could my VP be running too warm??
  14. ZR now being reported at York, Coatesville, Pottstown and Perkasie across the N and W philly burbs....looks like some minor ice accretion starting in the trees here in East Nantmeal...roads are no doubt fine - temps range from 31.8 - Tempest - 32.0 on Ambient and 32.9 on VP
  15. ZR now at KMQS my VP now down to 33.1 Ambient 31.8 and Tempest at 31.6 - will go out shortly and check if any light accretion taking place...
  16. Some light rain and a few sleet pellets mixed in just started to ring in the new year - Temp 33.6 VP / 32.4 Ambient and 32.4 on Tempest
  17. I see no reason to change my views of what is evolving for this winter based on the analogs in my forecast and the indices that will matter including the WPO / + PNA / - AO and / -NAO - I am on board with an above normal snow season for Western Chester County - despite how wrong my twitter and email messages keep telling me I will be....I may of course be wrong as professionals know much better than I but....I am sticking with my call. Above normal temps but above normal snowfall for Western Chester County PA Happy New Year to all! I suspect there will be quite a few snow or rumors of snow in our future. All the best in 2021 to you and your families!! Paul
  18. 40.5 with some IP mixed in with the rain here in NW Chesco
