    We’re about to lose some weenies. They don’t have what it takes to survive days of pattern and potential followed by 5-10 degree below normal cold.

    Setting up to be a good weekend at Snowshoe, Canaan, Whitegrass, Timberline, Wisp, 7Springs. And this doesn’t cover what may fall Friday and on via upslope.

    In the extended range, GFS showing hi temps BN for the most of the sub for a solid 2 weeks with peak cold coming next weekend.

    Maxed at 61 imby today. Got a 30 mile bike ride without any cold weather gear. If it’s not going to snow, I’ll take this.

    Some of our most active periods often have “surprise” events pop while everyone is focused on the main shows.

    Weekend of the 11th and perhaps MLK weekend setting up to be good ones for the ski areas along the spine. Natural snow + plenty cold for snow making.

    First event has the looks of a cold 3-6/4-8 event that we haven’t seen much of in recent years. Low stress, no mixing.

    Stayed in the 30s here all day. At least it wasn’t warm enough this Christmas to cause sweating lol. Good night for a fire with an appropriately named brew……fireside chat.

    I got my temporary snow fix yesterday.

    It won’t be empty. Probably looking at attendance of about 103-104k. As for the cold, it won’t be much worse, if at all, than the Maryland game the Saturday after thanksgiving. We got this.

    I’m holding out hope that they’ll get someone that resembles a number 1 arm. At a minimum they need someone of similar quality to Burnes to help solidify the rotation. Will be disheartening heading into the season if they don’t.

    I don’t think most disagree. Most just don’t want/need constant reminders about the causes. You’ve brought this up many times in recent winters, so it’s no secret where you stand. I think we can all respect your position without needing to be reminded of it all winter long. And that’s not to single YOU out, but since you posed the question…..
