Time to dig out the sunscreen and beach gear for the week of 10th. Fugly. I mentioned to ian yesterday on twitter that DCA hasnt had AOA december snowfall in a decade, but would be nice to see something, anything remotely promising on the horizon.

Was up in new england over the weekend. Rough conditions at every ski area I saw.....Loon, Cannon, Bretton Woods, Attitash, and Wildcat. And, so much brown ground all over outside the mountains.

The northern Carroll co. crew on the board really does a nice job of selling it as the frozen tundra of the mid-atlantic.

Any pre-January snow in these parts is bonus snow. If you can accept that you're good.

I get the liability, but there has to be some sound decision-making and common sense applied. There is no reason at all for any school in the immediate DMV area to be closed for weather tomorrow at this hour. Doing so now screams laziness by the decision makers.

The management of school closings has become an embarrassment. Some of these counties/districts need to get their shit together.

You see the mixing progressing slowly east on cc while also nudging NNE further to the east.

Ouch...talk about a lowering of totals. And, those 3-4" amounts might be a reach. This type of stuff has seemingly been happening in coastal NE all winter.

I'd be cautious with assuming ratios would be anything above 6-8:1.

Better than dry and warm. DC might have to take one for the team Sure, but if the NAM is right you're prob not going to see much either.

0z NAM looks wet and warm...if it's right, DC and most SE of 95 likely see no accumulation at all.
