  1. Tip's sun angle works great on the south side of structures. But the north side of my house is icy tundra. What makes it worse is that's the side of my property where the drainage occurs, so it's layer upon layer of ice build up on the sloped driveway, with very little melting during the day. I often wonder why people don't consider such things when they design homes (or why people like me buy those homes). Give me one more blizzard (ice-FREE), or send me into May.
  2. Good meltage today. Getting tired of the ice and dirty piles around here. Don't hate me for that, but I'm ready to turn the corner after the last two weeks.
  3. I think we're done here. Then the heavy rains will melt the ice before the winds start pumping.
  4. Yeah...and looks like winds start to really crank around 8pm around us.
  5. 28.2 here too. I was wondering why my wind reading has been 0. My anemometer is frozen solid.
  6. Even my hickories and oaks are struggling in this. Totally catastrophic.
  7. Very happy for you guys. What do you have on the ground/pack?
  8. Heavy rain/sleet here now. Freezing on contact.
  9. I texted my plow guy and told him not to come. Gonna wait for the heavy rains to flush it out.
  10. I was cocked last night...left both sets of keys in the truck and didn't park in barn...can't open up doors.
  11. Temp dropping. Down to 25.8. Radar filling in to SW. This is going to be extreme.
  12. I have never seen this much ice accretion. Rock solid 1/3" over everything. 2.2" snow. 26.5F
  13. For us, it's all about getting enough tonight to preserve the damage the rain will do. If we end up equal, it's a win.
  14. Yeah...nice echoes and backfilling...Danbury to the CT MA border, heading east.
  15. You're gonna get in on it. Nice development as it heads east. Poundage here now.
  16. Let's hope. 21.3 here...hasn't budged yet in 3 hours.
  17. Yup. Need that to keep filling in. HRRR has it doing so.
  18. Very heavy snow heading into central western CT, directly east.
  19. 21.2 here. Steady temp for last 2 hours. 1.5" with nice horizontal redevelopment band to my west. HRRR seems to have nailed this for my area. 6 more hours of snow before the changeover, hoping.
  20. Just on a visual depiction, 12z HRRR gives CT another hour of snow before sleet/ice vs 11z.
