That was by me for 1/27/15 Will and I were talking that day regarding the mid level magic storm of why models had little precip into SNE. Only the RGEM hinted at it. There was moist cyclonic flow at H7 right into SNE.

The local big pond here has been frozen since about NY. Had some ice in December but not truly frozen over. I can’t recall that possible since 2015.

The block was just pushing everything south. You’re right in that the PAC wasn’t perfect, but we could have had a good event if we didn’t have that block sinking south.
