  1. I feel your pain. I'm a couple miles inland but it's usually not enough in marginal situations...whereas Killingworth/North Madision/North Guilford can pull off an inch or two. Hell, it's infuriating how often parts of LI outperforms me...just happened with the event last week.
  2. So desperate for any accumulating snowfall here that I slant-sticked my way to 0.1" on the patio table this morning. Refused to record the second biggest event of the season as a trace. It was all gone within an hour...but hopefully a 0.1" refresher headed our way tonight
  3. Good Lord there's a lot of melts this morning for something 7 days out. I think some of you need to step away from your screens for the weekend and check back in Monday or Tuesday. If things look better by then you'll be refreshed for a few days of non-stop tracking...if it looks like shit, you can take comfort in the fact that you didn't waste your weekend away tracking it. And nobody here will have to listen to your whining. That's a win-win-win.
  4. 1.2" was the total here along the shoreline. Guidance seemed pretty accurate around these parts.
  5. Yeah this is crazy and unexpected. Been going on for over 2 hours here in Clinton with only a brief lull. One of the most intense lightning storms I can remember here. Not much sleep happening in the house tonight.
  6. 91.2/79.6/108.9 here. May be on my way to an all time record high at my station. Caveat being this is only the 3rd summer of having it installed. Have not yet eclipsed 93.
  7. If that moved through an hour or two later I would've made a drive down to the water. Maybe would've seen some nice lightning over the sound if nothing else. Here at the house it's just been some occasional rumbles of thunder the past couple hours...but have managed to pick up 0.20".
  8. Have had some rumblings of thunder here the past couple of hours but the stuff over LI has had no interest in moving inland. Still have managed to pick up 0.35" though.
  9. I sure hope so but I’m getting screwed by subsidence at the moment. And I feel like the bands to both the east and west of here are showing signs of slowly weakening. Winds have picked up quite a bit the past hour or so though. Starting to doubt we’ll make it to 12” here. Sitting at about 8”.
  10. No ground verification here, despite supposedly being in one of those bands. But radar suggests we may see some improvement soon. I’ll believe the 2-3”/hr rates when I see it though.
  11. Can’t believe Upton upped amounts with their morning update. Their forecast yesterday afternoon was actually pretty reasonable. They bumped me from 10-14 to 12-18. Just barely likely to hit 12” and that 12-18 zone extends quite a bit west of here where it doesn’t stand a chance of verifying.
  12. Down to 16.7f here and falling. Snow growth shit at the moment though. Probably 7-8”.
  13. Congrats! Everyone knows what a snow hole SE cT can be…nice to see you guys cash in!
  14. I’m off to your SW so in the same general position relative to that band. Was really hoping it pushed just a bit more W, but looks to be pretty much stationary at this point. We’ll see what the next couple hours bring.
  15. 19.9f and about 6” here. Moderate snow. I don’t even know how you measure anything but final depth in these conditions. Winds aren’t crazy…but it’s so powdery it doesn’t take more than a sneeze to move it around. Did my best to clear a few spots…we’ll see.
  16. It’s really going to come down to the placement of the deformation band tomorrow morning, offshore convection, and how quickly the primary low(s) pull away for anyone looking for bigger totals. Not convinced the placement of the lighter snows overnight have much bearing on that. Just my 2 cents.
  17. Pretty much been just pixie dust here the past 2.5 hrs. Maybe 1/4” down. Snow growth seems to be improving a bit in the past 10-15 minutes but still just light snow. 28.6f
  18. I think we're all in agreement that naming winter storms is a stupid practice...but I can't help but notice Ch3 in CT has gone with the name 'Bobby'. I can't think of a more underwhelming name for a storm of this magnitude. Cringeworthy.
