  8. Microburst or straight line here, my first summer up here. A long-lived supercell, which formed in eastern New York during the late evening of the 9th, moved across northern Connecticut during the early morning hours of the 10th. The storm intensified as it entered Hartford County, and downed wires in South Windsor. As the storm entered Tolland County, there were many reports of dime to nickel size hail, but hail as large as golf balls fell in Vernon and Willington. In Windham County, the storm downed trees and large branches from Hampton to East Killingly. As this supercell moved east into Rhode Island and southeast Massachusetts, it produced more widespread wind damage and large hail.
