  1. Crazy stat and I didn't realize what a good year 87 was Sunapee had 61 days above 40 inches. I need to go back and look at 87. It seems to have left my memory. I remember the Jan storms but that is it
  2. Saw discussion in the NNE thread about longest run of 12 plus pack. 57 days in 2015 and 53 in 2011 here. A plus epic winters feature long deep packs. Using 8 inches as pack 2001 led the way with 80 followed by 2003 with 74. Using 6 inch pack 2003 tops the list with 87 followed by 2005 and 01 with 86. The longest continously pack of at least one inch was 05 with 107 followed by 78 with 106, 1987 was a sneaky good year with 97. This is from the nearby coop at North Foster since 1976. Places like ORH of course blow that away but airports don't keep depth records anymore which sucks. Blue Hill had 70 days of 12 plus in 1948
  3. Pattern seems boring but appears ripe for the rare these days, Albert Clipper EDIT. 6Z GFS just showed one LR. GFS and all but give it a look see.
  4. Coyotes loud howling woke the whole house up at 430. Very eerie
  5. Yeah 96 was torched end of Feb. March 77 started torchy. Southern NE snow then central and NNE . ORH caught both. I believe March 77 is ORH 5th snowiest March. I was dating a girl from Auburn and we used to go to dinner and concerts in Orh. I remember the stark difference in snow from my dorm at URI. Think the month ended though with like 85 degrees lol
  6. Was reviewing some Feb 15 stats. Didn't realize the Feb and March 15 2 month period holds the record for the coldest against normal 60 day period. Of course the snow records are insane but I forgot how cold March was, -7 or so. I am intrigued how often March 77 and 96 keep showing up in analogs. False spring then mid month shenanigans? Always funny when people are in full spring mode then boom a week to 10 days of winter returns. I guess it's human nature to rush seasons. Winter has a way of showing up in Mid March some years to much surprise.
  7. True more intrigued with 50 50 and NAO. Hopefully one of those cases where modeling loses a system day 7 8 and then gradually bring it back
  8. Hey congrats on the engagement. Woot woot. I am doing so much better with 4 new discs and that spinal cage. I hope you find relief bro
  9. I love that ride. Went through there in March 01, as you round the turn heading up out of Gorham on 16, saw the huge xcountry ski shop by the Auto road burning down due to the 3/ 4 feet of the heaviest wet snow impacting power lines. Literally a complete white scene in the White mountains with Evergreen tops almost touching the ground. Most insane thing I have ever seen
  10. Heard they shutdown the fore runner due to ice and wind
  11. Nice, maybe we glad we live here as well?
  12. Been quietly admiring the down playing of that cold shot and squalls by NWS
  13. Remember when up until 2015 you thought it was impossible, I do
  14. Jeffafafa's car parked this week in 1969
  15. Did you ski Berkshire East? Jiminy always has been meh to me. I definitely like the Berks for all things summer as well. The Whites are spectacular and the hiking trails are incredible but apres is seriously lacking. Bretton Woods is fun but a little too flat like Mt Snow, nice day trip though. Mountains and beaches are my gig and all the fantastic restaurants breweries make nightlife better. So much to see in New England if you know where to look.
  16. Sure does, guess it depends on where you go. The whitewater rafting is pretty sweet as well and I think Berkshire East is the best little mountain in New England certainly more fun interesting and challenging than some pretty flat ones in NNE.
