  1. With 30 mph winds, I thought for sure you had a met degree? Forkyfork too, his hurricane? 30 mph winds
  2. Holy shit its panic city at the stores and shore from what everyone is telling me. Hope its not a case where its mostly meh and then the big one comes.
  3. When whole trees blew over in Isaias last year it was no joke. I am hoping cooler waters and heads prevail.
  4. Worst case scenario for Cat 1 for Misquamicut Charlestown barrier beaches.
  5. You are talking about a path we are talking about size, fetch, integrated kinetic energy. Not even in the same ballpark.
  6. Slow your roll man. Hurricanes always look great over the gulf stream but slow moving canes hit that cooler water and fill rapidly. Look at the HWRF to see. A good wind hit for some, decent surge and massive rains. But ages yea no
  7. Look let's put the Sandy BS away please. Sandy size Sandy currently has hurricane-force winds extending up to 175 miles (280 kilometers) from its center, and tropical storm-force winds out to 520 miles (835 km), according to the NHC. Henri at max FORECAST VALID 22/0000Z 37.3N 71.8W MAX WIND 75 KT...GUSTS 90 KT. 64 KT... 20NE 25SE 10SW 0NW. 50 KT... 50NE 60SE 30SW 20NW. 34 KT...100NE 130SE 95SW 60NW.
  8. Any comparison to Sandy is irresponsible. Sandy was fueled by an enormous high speed jet interaction with a side Cat 2 hurricane that slowly built up a massive wall of water. No comparison
  9. Full moon goon, did anyone in SNE expect anything else?
  10. We did. High astro tides 11 feet at Boston
  11. Yea dirt cellars but Ray's house looks relatively new?
  12. I don't have water issues but certainly worry about trees. I will take the west side with minimal winds if I had a choice
  13. How does one get worms in the basement
  14. Nice to see so many local newcomers here
  15. No guarantees but if you give some edibles I can predict your winds tomorrow at noon for Sunday lol. You probably gust to 50 though. Very close to the ocean. But if you are behind the hills by the golf course less but down by the turf fields more.
  16. Globals say Narragansett Bay to MVY
  17. I think you are right, all of CT is under the gun for tropical rains . Would not be surprised to see 6 to 8 inches across the state with Mr Tolland epicenter again. Classic western wall of water
  18. I have been hammering the upwelling issue as well. The depth of warm water just south of New England is shallow. Add in East NE winds and upwelling rapidly cools the surface.
  19. Quonnie pond should be fine. That barrier beach is called a barrier for a reason, maybe 2 foot rise.
