  1. 4.5 total between storm yesterday and windex tonight.....18.0 total for the season
  2. count me in from the lower bowels of death valley
  3. I agree with ctvalley the 2.9 might be a bit low in this area although downtown would not surprise me....4 to 5 will do it the upslope is astonishing and the retention once above 800-1k this time of year too
  4. Strongly agree with this but folks just go on and on and on measuring all the time.....
  5. and that alone makes it a far more superior event the mid level magic 20-30 inches is awesome but 12/92 and 4/97 it is not period
  6. there are still too many imperfections with today's forecasting, models were terrible back here right through midnight runs...business closed and schools closed, people had to scramble to make plans for kids, etc.....seems very wasteful to me
  7. No one was polluting anything, this was a historic storm for many folks and soul crushingly poor for more than a few others.
  8. but the cape will periodically see epic events, the cape will see single storm rates and depths those in the valley only dream of.....i feel a smidge bad for the capers today though missing big snows and loosing power....must suck
  9. exactly, we do it was a horrible bust valley wide and if it makes some weenie feel better to say we had 6 inches when there is 3 otg to cheat his/her way to the very low end of a forecast well then he/she can have at it
  10. I really don't care how either of you spin it...the forecast was horrible and the snow worse...its mid march in the valley and it flurries/scattered snow showers all day on warm ground etc etc I cleared once...have 4 total and 3.2 otg and it feels cheap reporting 4 it is still half or less of what was forecast for the entire valley
  11. I can't believe you have 5, I have 3...perhaps 3.5 if i cleared a board etc...and downtown is even worse at 2....this is what I mean you are in a better spot than I am as you get more snow by 1-3 inches 9/10 times when ineedsnow was out in agawam some storms he had 3-6 more than what I had, maybe even a bit more in the real big ones
  12. i would say its even a little worse than that but this is an excellent post, however we are supposed to average 50"/season and maybe you do in Enfield but a few miles to the north here I think its only 45 or so we loose important qpf in the beginning of every storm while snow has begun north south east and west of here for reasons I don't fully understand, even with swfe and then we are downsloped or miss bands....too far n/nw for most ene specials etc but then often not far enough n/nw for more tucked events when I first moved up here I couldn't figure out why TV mets were so conservative, I quickly understood after a season or 2
  13. finally some bigger flakes but still just light snow...3 new maybe if it snows like this into tonight we hit the low ranges of our forecast
  14. flurries....perhaps 3 new....the band looks like its 2 miles away now even if that band does not represent heavy snow it has to be more than flurries
