  1. Then the sun came out after I typed this. It was kind of a nice day overall. About .4 or so that's it. Just that this is the third time heavy rain has been forecast this past two months that never materialized. Still better than the horror show up north, I wouldn't wish that on my worst enemy.
  2. Non event here too. A period or two of Rain. So much for the calls for torrential downpours.
  3. If this was a snowstorm I would be in the tub with a toaster
  4. I love this kind of weather...the heat will be back within a month or so. It could be upper 30s to mid 40s with rain and drizzle so it could certainly be worse
  5. About 2 inches so far.....sooo many puddles. I'm thinking with last Saturdays deluge we're good for awhile
  6. Yup I had about the same. Torrential rain for at least an hour with lighter B4 and after. Tons of lightning and loud cracking thunder. A little pea size hail for good measure too. Lots of mud. At least three inches. Such a small area really hammered. Other parts of Springfield farther north and west very little.
  7. I was thinking of you. Kind of impressive...for mid April
  8. D plus Half of normal snowfall which is becoming the new short term average.... Minus ten and windy one day One 6 inch event Have seen worse, typical 80s style winter just warmer
  9. Well better than torch I don't care what any of you say
  10. 5.0 from yesterday, season total 23.9.....puts us into ordinary ratter territory at least
  11. Same here. We hit 32 briefly a few times during the burst early yesterday but spent the afternoon well into the 30s and 33 last night
  12. Picked up another inch with the stuff post dry slot for a 5 inch storm total
  13. It's tough here man. We lucked out early this morning. If you live here during a truly snowy winter, make sure you're stocked up on tranquilizers. You will marvel at all the different ways to get snow screwed lol.
  14. Wow! Thats a boatload of snow....good for you....did you loose power?
  15. Light rain lots of melting mashed taters 36F
  16. So there may be a part 2 for us in Springfield? I had at least 4 inches before the slot....how much in your part of town?
  17. Been white rain and melting in the dry slot. We had about four inches before things started to tapper off I'm good with no more accumulating snow, don't want any power or damage issues
  18. Well the memory of October 2011 still looms fresh in my mind. No power and no internet for at least 7 days. I would love to be buried as much as any other winter weather enthusiast but not at that expense. I lost $500 worth of fresh and frozen food and it was in the 40s to around 50 in the house. Not something I want to repeat.
  19. I hope it does for you. I admire your ability to move to snowier spots and you have a family and major responsibility. If anyone "deserves" a monster snowstorm it's you. Not to mention the excellent interpretation of weather models and likewise posts.
  20. Yup. I used to get so upset but I went back to the Kocin/Ucellini ❄️❄️ book and over time the Eastern Mass thing happened a lot and so did the NNJ/NYC/LI jackpots. I learned that over the years the Springfield area was almost always a minimum. What made it harder the last 18 years was having all this access to reports and radar etc and really living it. You're in a much better spot than I am. I grew up in central CT. Even Ryan does much better than this part of the lower valley but can't compare to eastern areas. Now they occasionally suffer more severe temporary snow droughts but then they make up for it in spades. For whatever reason we don't get the old school Miller A storms much at all anymore or clipper type systems that bomb right off NJ and south of LI. Those storms could really wallop your area. These later capture Miller B types which have been the norm all too often get the goods going from ORH on east or southeast/northeast. After 18 winters I don't average 50 inches a season. 40 to 45. When I lived in Bristol CT the avg was about 55. You're a great poster. I know it sucks. Who knows maybe trends will reverse some for this one.
