  1. Really? Most of us work and are up by 4, 5, or 6. I don't want 8:30am sunrises. F that....
  2. High today was 69.8 in my backyard, so technically 70. As for the DST argument. I don't much care for the time change, but I wish they would just leave it standard time. I lived with all year standard time in Arizona, and it was no big deal. Having DST year 'round, as was mentioned above, means it will be dark in the morning until 8am for about a month straight during part of December and January, which sucks, in my opinion.
  3. I'm not trying to deny you of winter, but I'd rather it be from November to February as opposed to January to April, which is how it seems lately.
  4. Geez...I want to start cleaning up and getting my yard ready for spring, not to mention getting the salt off the undercarriage of my new Jeep. Enough already...
  5. 54 and sunshine was enough here to melt everything except where the snow drifted in the farm fields. Everything else looks like it did on Friday prior to the event.
  6. 20 at my house right now. 21 in Tower City. Here's to getting up to 50 this afternoon!
  7. Ok, so here is the official Schuylkill County (Skook) measurement for yesterday's snowfall. It was half a bottle of Boilo deep...
  8. Winding down here now. There's no way to get an accurate measurement. I think the wind leveled me off at two inches due to grass height. I'd venture to guess, by eyeball, that we got 3-6 inches.
  9. Looks to almost be winding down here already. Sunny is poking through clouds and it's barely snowing.
  10. I don't really understand the science behind this, but my station currently is reporting 181.3 watts/m².
  11. I like the graphics that Wunderground provides for personal weather stations. This grab shows when the "shit hit the fan" so to speak which was at 6:04 am here in my backyard.
  12. I'm not going to attempt to measure as I have a small property, and the wind I'm sure wouldn't give me an accurate measurement. Eyeballing, though, I'd say a good 2 to 3 inches here. Snow intensity peaks and wanes, but has been at least moderate the whole time. My backyard wind gust so far is 17.2 mph, so likely in a more open location, winds are probably gusting 25 to 30 mph.
  13. Is it warmer, or are the rates just not there, from Ft Indiantown southwest to Harrisburg? Looking at PA511 cameras, I'm surprised the roads are just wet out there while everywhere else they are snow covered.
  14. Down to 27.9 now. Snow blowing sideways at times and when it blows off the rooftops creates nearly whiteout conditions. From a high of 57 mostly sunny degrees yesterday afternoon to this today. The weather and power of nature is truly something to behold...
  15. Temp down to 31.3 and the roads have indeed caved. Snowing moderate to almost heavy here as visibility is down to about 1/2 mile. Getting breezier as well.
  16. Full on snow now. Temp down to 33.6 degrees. Grass and mulch caving. Roads soon to follow.
  17. Just woke up. It was 37.0 and raining lightly. Put the dog out and had a smoke and while I was out, the rain was transitioning into snow, and it was getting breezy. By the time I was done it was mostly snow, and now the temp is 35.6 as I type this.
  18. I literally just said this to my wife right before I read your response...
  19. I remember that event. If I'm correct, they didn't have much problem with getting the snow to accumulate on paved surfaces either, despite the previous high temperatures.
  20. The thought had crossed my mind earlier this afternoon/evening. Now that one was hoisted for the Blue Ridge Mtns, I wonder if we'll see more hoisted overnight, and if so, who gets them.
  21. Not liking what the HRRR is depicting. Once again targeting I-95. I hate when that happens. I'd much rather miss big snow to the northwest to the southeast.
