Will you guys PLEASE take this persistent trough off my hands? My forecast for early next week... Monday A 20 percent chance of showers. Mostly sunny, with a high near 57. West wind around 5 mph. Monday Night Mostly clear, with a low around 36. West northwest wind around 5 mph becoming north after midnight. Tuesday Sunny, with a high near 56. North northeast wind around 5 mph becoming calm.

Nope. Even with trough it's still warmer here than there...lol

For what it's worth, I don't like the trough in the southwest either...

Same in the Skook. Wife had no problems, but said she saw a couple of accidents on her way into work.

Nope. Not a chance. Too many closed minded folks there who will NEVER leave, no matter how much better life can or might be somewhere else.

So it was (and still is) a Pennsylvania type day and overnight here in the desert. It started raining at 10:30am yesterday and hasn't stopped since. Here at the house, 0.42" of a steady, light to moderate, synoptic rain.

Living in Phoenix now, so I like this post. A ridge in the right place gives me my 75 to 80 degrees, and you guys good snow. Many times the southwest (LA and Phoenix) broiled while we were getting dumped on.

40 degrees warmer than that this morning for our low, and my friends and family wonder why I don't want to come back home to PA. They all know how much I HATE winter and cold temperatures, yet ask when I'm returning.

This is a really rare forecast for the southwest deserts. Four straight nights/mornings of fog chances. We hardly ever have dew, let alone a full blown fog... Friday Night Patchy fog after 1am. Otherwise, mostly cloudy, with a low around 50. Calm wind. Saturday A 20 percent chance of showers after 11am. Patchy fog before 9am. Otherwise, mostly cloudy, with a high near 70. Calm wind becoming east southeast around 5 mph. Saturday Night A 20 percent chance of showers. Patchy fog. Otherwise, cloudy, with a low around 55. Calm wind. Sunday Patchy fog before 9am. Otherwise, mostly cloudy, with a high near 71. Calm wind becoming south southeast around 5 mph. Sunday Night Patchy fog after 9pm. Otherwise, partly cloudy, with a low around 51. Calm wind. Monday Patchy fog before 9am. Otherwise, mostly sunny, with a high near 70. Calm wind becoming southwest around 5 mph in the afternoon. Monday Night Patchy fog after 9pm. Otherwise, partly cloudy, with a low around 46. West southwest wind around 5 mph becoming calm. Tuesday Patchy fog before 10am. Otherwise, mostly sunny, with a high near 67. I checked my station and it showed 12.5 for a peak gust, but from what I've heard, it must have been higher because tree crews are out working on some downed branches.

About half of it needed mowed. It was still plenty green yet, too. That was the year my wife's hyacinths poked out of the ground as well. Our neighbor had a couple hyacinths that got full sun on a southern exposure and were about 3" high.

I think it was 2015 when I mowed my grass on Christmas Eve...

What does the second wave in Texas do afterward? Does it follow the first one into the Northeast, get sheared out, or suppressed and out to sea?

Geez. It's only 36 here this morning.

It's true. I can't. Like I said in a previous post a few weeks ago, that record shattering heat wave a few February's ago, when you guys were flirting with 80, I was freezing my ass off in a truckstop in Palm Springs.

See...I'm not kidding when I say cold air follows me. I moved back to PA in the summer of 2001, so 2000 was my last November (and winter) in Phoenix. So now, 22 years later I'm back in Phoenix, and this happens. Ironic, isn't it?

While it's not always true, I'm a firm believer in what October and November (and April and May in the spring) show, so is the general pattern for the solstices. So far, to me anyway, it looks like the "general" trend is going to be troughy in the west and ridgy in the east. Of course there are flips here and there, but...

I just wanna know when I can rub it in to family and friends when it's 75 here and snowing like crazy back there. So far, this isn't going the way I planned...

I'm predicting no snow this winter at my current location...

In PA I kept the house at 68 in the summer and 72 in the winter. But in my case, the house was old, and the cold air would seep in in various places. I guess my thought was that if I had to freeze and layer up outside, I wasn't going to do it inside.

Do you guys see your breath when you breathe/talk while you're there???
