  1. Watching that line as it moves toward Tamaqua, and it's doing what they all do. New convection fires east of town toward Carbon County and the Poconos as the original line dies out. Topography for the win (loss). The I-81 corridor in Eastern Schuylkill County is a bona-fide storm killer.
  2. Noticing an increase in a cool breeze here in Tower City. When I first started loading the truck 20 minutes ago it was muggy and still.
  3. As I said earlier. I just wasn't feeling it today. So many times these "severe outbreaks" are hyped up, and the we end up getting garden variety storms.
  4. So now my daughter tells me all of our local school districts are dismissing early due to the severe threat. I've never heard of that before.
  5. I just perused the models, as well as current and future radar, and I'm not super confident on seeing any severe weather in my travels today. I'm just not feeling it for some reason.
  6. Not really. It'll go from empty to a quarter tank...lol
  7. Absolutely too far out, especially when it comes to tropical systems.
  8. So how bad could it be? This is one time I'm rooting AGAINST it.
  9. This is not good as tomorrow is windshield replacement day... If it wouldn't have been such a big damn rock that it literally shattered the impact point, I could have gotten it fixed at my convenience instead of being "under the gun".
  10. I guess 2 days is better than 0 days, but I really want some sustained summer weather, not brief warm-ups followed by a week or more of 15 to 20 degrees below normal.
  11. I was wondering when someone would notice. No one seemed to be talking about it...
  12. I guess I need to move to Caribou, Maine... RECORD EVENT REPORT NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE CARIBOU ME 0429 PM EDT FRI MAY 13 2022 ...PRELIMINARY RECORD HIGH TEMPERATURE SET AT CARIBOU ME... A PRELIMINARY RECORD HIGH TEMPERATURE OF 90 WAS SET AT CARIBOU ME TODAY. THIS BREAKS THE OLD RECORD OF 78 SET IN 1992. THIS IS THE SECOND EARLIEST 90 DEGREE DAY ON RECORD.
  13. Wow. Just got surprised by a nearly simultaneous lightning and thunder strike. Unexpected storm rolling in from my SOUTHEAST at the moment along with some heavy rain...
  14. Yup. Then I'll just get the Rubicon. This one is the Willys Edition.
  15. It's covered, but if we get any driving downpours, I don't know... What I do know is that I'm lucky it hit where it did. A few inches higher and it might have completely came through the windshield and severely injured me, or worse. I'm guessing it was a 1-2 inch rock that was shot across the road by a passing car that hit it JUST RIGHT with one of the tires.
  16. So this happened to me and my Jeep on the way home from work yesterday. It is taped and covered with one of those frost covers, but I can't get a new windshield installed until Monday, and I don't have a garage, so you guys have to help me in wishing and praying that heavy or steady soaking rain stays AWAY from Tamaqua this weekend and Monday morning...
  17. 75 at my house in Tamaqua, and 76 up here in Sunbury. Full sun.
  18. Truly amazing conditions considering the East winds.
