Do you mean football, or an actual turkey bowl as in bowling. WZZO, the rock station in Allentown, used to hold a literal turkey bowl, where they drilled holes in frozen turkeys and set up pins and a makeshift lane in their parking lot.
I agree. I like my winter holidays Thanksgiving/Christmas at least overcast and cool. Typically though, we see rain on the summer holidays and bright, sunny skies on the winter ones...

I'm going to be Sunbury bound later this week and the beginning of next week. I expect a red carpet out on the main drag through Pillow on Thursday morning...
Classic example of clickbait. It got me too. Saw the headline about Las Vegas snow only to find out it was in normally snowy Las Vegas, NM.
They conveniently left out the state to get people to click the link...
79.5 today which is good for a rounded up 80, although I hate that. I know it's NWS protocol, but in my opinion (which doesn't really matter) you should actually record 80.0 (or any temperature) for it to count as such.
Looks like the drought might have an effect on my work soon. Don't know if they'll ask for voluntary extraction cutbacks, or if they'll go to the authorities and force our hand. Now my company is only a hauler for the well owners, so it's up to them and the govt what happens.

Brush fires popping all over the place. Got one now in Coaldale, which is 5 miles from the house, and one over by Pottsville. Ugh...hope these new ones get put out quickly.
Nothing new this morning yet, but this post from NEPA Storm Chasers from 10pm last night paints a pretty dire situation. Thank God there is no coal in that area. If this fire was happening here in Tamaqua, or anywhere else in the coal region, we could potentially have another Centralia on our hands.
We need rain, bad. Large wildfire on the Blue Mountain in the Palmerton/Walnutport area of Carbon and Northampton County. That's about 25 miles from me.
