  1. Sometimes I'm up at 1am Phx time. All our first deliveries are 7am. I never really thought we'd see temps that cold, although it has happened a couple of times in the past. This morning I had to remote start the Jeep due to frost. So far the low for today is 32.5 degrees.
  2. I know the p-types with this storm have been talked about for days, but seeing up to 40 mph winds in the watch text this morning kind of surprised me.
  3. These two posts are exactly why I despised winter and snow. Until I became a trucker, I loved both.
  4. The GFS is the polar opposite so who knows. It's 10 days out so probably won't verify, but I don't think I've ever seen a colder depiction for Phoenix and the entire southwest.
  5. Holy mother of God. 21 degrees in Phoenix? That would probably put Sun City in the mid to upper teens. If that happens as depicted, there is no doubting the fact that I'm a cold magnet. That's all time record flirting material right there...
  6. I told my mom's neighbor that there was a better chance of a white Christmas in Phoenix than my wife ever moving out here. I swear if it actually happens...
  7. I keep hoping for big events for you guys. Perhaps a couple of big snowstorms and my wife will say screw it, I'm moving out to Arizona... Doubt it, though...
  8. I was just going to post mine from Tamaqua, but they're similar. Daytime temps are borderline, but we all know that 36 may end up being 32 or 33.
  9. Looks like too much mixing/flipping east of 81. Still a good 6-12, but the crush job IS farther NW this run.
  10. No it isn't. If everything falls into place, you guys might be looking at a special final two weeks of December!
  11. Haha...maybe. If you guys do end up with an epic winter, you're not going to want me to ever come back...
  12. I sure hope (and pray) I don't get a Flagstaff load assignment on Monday... Sunday Night Snow showers, mainly after 11pm. The snow could be heavy at times. Patchy blowing snow after midnight. Low around 24. Breezy, with a south wind 20 to 23 mph, with gusts as high as 36 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New snow accumulation of 3 to 7 inches possible. Monday Snow showers, mainly before 11am. The snow could be heavy at times. Widespread blowing snow, mainly before 11am. High near 33. Breezy, with a southwest wind 16 to 23 mph, with gusts as high as 39 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New snow accumulation of 3 to 5 inches possible.
  13. The PHX forecast for Sun City shows winter for me too...ugh Tuesday Areas of frost before 8am. Otherwise, sunny, with a high near 53. Calm wind becoming south around 5 mph. Tuesday Night Widespread frost. Otherwise, mostly clear, with a low around 34. Calm wind. Wednesday Widespread frost. Otherwise, sunny, with a high near 54. Calm wind.
  14. Meanwhile in Voyager's world, the weather gods don't like me...
  15. Almost unbelievable story developing in the Tamaqua area tonight. Two firefighters die battling a house fire, and an apparent gun suicide during the fire. https://www.skooknews.com/2022/12/two-firefighters-die-in-west-penn.html?m=1
  16. Denied. The cold weather magnet has left the region...
  17. I think the temperature threshold is 60, but not sure of the other parameters.
  18. Will you guys PLEASE take this persistent trough off my hands? My forecast for early next week... Monday A 20 percent chance of showers. Mostly sunny, with a high near 57. West wind around 5 mph. Monday Night Mostly clear, with a low around 36. West northwest wind around 5 mph becoming north after midnight. Tuesday Sunny, with a high near 56. North northeast wind around 5 mph becoming calm.
  19. Nope. Even with trough it's still warmer here than there...lol
  20. For what it's worth, I don't like the trough in the southwest either...
  21. Same in the Skook. Wife had no problems, but said she saw a couple of accidents on her way into work.
