No snow in the Tamaqua backyard as of 1:45am. I guess 800ft is to low. Seeing just a couple flakes mixed in with the rain looking at the streetlight.

Just rain here in Tamaqua. Temp 36 degrees.

Ah, I see. I've been working 12 hour days all week and had errands after work, so I've not looked at a model. I've been living through you guys for my weather info.

My confidence level on the current storm is diminishing. All the good radar returns are north and east. Unless it pivots southwest, I don't see my area getting much.

I get up at 1:30am daily to start my shift at 3am. I guess I'll get to see prime time without taking any special measures.

Back to weather. What a strange radar presentation currently. When does what's hitting the Poconos get pulled back west, or does other areas fill in with what's moving east?
-
Already went through there. Now it's homeward bound.

Today's my last day on it. The guys who took it over when I went to AZ are on vacation. I was filling in for them.

And just like that, it's over, for now... But just like this radar image shows, I did see a few wet snowflakes coming down I-81 by the Hegins exit as the precip ended.

Which day? This Friday or next?

Here's Tamaqua... Thursday Night Snow, possibly mixed with rain, becoming all snow after 1am. Low around 32. West wind 8 to 13 mph, with gusts as high as 26 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New snow accumulation of 1 to 3 inches possible. Friday Rain, possibly mixed with snow. High near 39. West wind 9 to 11 mph, with gusts as high as 24 mph. Chance of precipitation is 90%. New snow accumulation of less than one inch possible. Friday Night A chance of rain and snow before 7pm, then a chance of rain. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 32. Chance of precipitation is 40%. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible.

Can't use 10:1 in this setup, though. Kuchera maps would be closer to verifying, if it plays out as depicted. No one's going to see 10:1 ratios, especially the lower elevations.

Ah, 309. I go over the Blue on 309 six to eight times per shift running my spring water loads. It's going to be a fun morning if it happens.

Bad posting in the politics OT forum. Not sure though if he was suspended, banned, or just quit.

Umm... Thursday Night Rain likely before 10pm, then rain and snow likely between 10pm and 4am, then a chance of snow after 4am. Cloudy, with a low around 31. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New snow accumulation of less than a half inch possible.

Perhaps a little ice on Friday morning? Thursday Night A chance of showers. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 30. Chance of precipitation is 50%.

I would be perfectly happy if every day in the winter was just like this one. A bit frosty in the morning and near 60 in the afternoon. I may be a heat miser, but this is just fine with me for the cooler months.

Nope. Once I deliver in Sunbury, the fastest (but not the shortest mileage wise) is to run US11 to Danville and then 80 east to 81 south to get home.
-
Interesting temperature variations this morning. Here in Tamaqua it's currently 37 degrees. Out in Sunbury, it's anywhere from 28-32 on the PWS's in the area. I looked because we had to drop a trailer out in Sunbury yesterday. I broke down on my first load of the day (blew a radiator hose while climbing the Blue Mountain) which put me 2 hours behind schedule. By the time I got to our Sunbury customer, they closed shop and went home. Rather than drag the load back home than back up there again this morning, it was dropped and I bobtailed home. Today's driver will bobtail back to unload it and continue on his day. Now, the load itself won't freeze, but the outlet valve might.

I see how you are. You just want a free load of water...lol

I'm still waiting to see them in Downtown Pillow as I drive through...

Very light rain here, but close to a little icing event. Got down to 34 on my Jeep thermometer going in to work this early morning.
