  1. Speaking of winds, this is for Monday here in AZ. Basically all of I-17 north of Phoenix is under this watch that will go to a warning. Lucky me gets to go to Flagstaff again, with an empty trailer, for a dog food load. ...HIGH WIND WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM MONDAY MORNING THROUGH MONDAY EVENING... * WHAT...Southwest winds 40 to 50 mph with gusts up to 80 mph possible. * WHERE...Much of northern Arizona, including the higher terrain of Yavapai County and areas along and north of the Mogollon Rim. * WHEN...From Monday morning through Monday evening.
  2. I wish I could have gotten a report on what was/is happening in Tamaqua, but my wife answers her phone about 25% of the time I call her. It's incredibly frustrating. My station is reporting a peak gust of 15 mph, but it is always way low, being "sheltered" in an "inner city-like" neighborhood. I can figure on nearly doubling the readings for more open areas in the region. That being said, I believe the area didn't have anything approaching severe.
  3. Yup. My mom's house has one. Did any houses in Florida have the roof top set up, or is it strictly a desert thing?
  4. Unless it's made of twigs... That was sarcasm, too.
  5. It never fails. Everytime there's snow in the forecast for Flagstaff, dispatch sends me up there...
  6. This is a cold and snow based weather board in general. Not sure why you're surprised. I, however, am a warmanista and despise winter in general...unless an historic storm is in the offing.
  7. So how wet has it been in Arizona? Year to date, the PWS a couple blocks from my house has received 4.06" of precipitation. Average annual precip is 7.75", so we've already passed the halfway point to our annual average...in less than three months.
  8. I saw that a lot, where it would be 40 in Tamaqua (800ft) and pushing 60 in Hazleton (1,700ft).
  9. Here's a pic from today. It's the I-10 Salt River crossing near Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport. It's a normally dry river.
  10. And this for me, which is totally absurd. Normal is 80, and these temps are actually slightly below average even for late December/early January.
  11. From what I'm hearing, Colorado had a decent winter, but for Lake Powell and Lake Mead it would take 10 years of good winters to bring them up to 70 to 80 percent capacity.
  12. Just think. I single handedly ended the drought out here. The Salt River reservoirs are so full that they are doing dam releases and making the normally dry river bed through Phoenix look like the Susquehanna.
  13. Nickel and dime? Some of you guys didn't even get the .9 that the gas stations show on their signs... When Tucson, AZ has more seasonal snow than PHL, something's wrong.
  14. And what's amazing is that it's been well below normal out here in Phoenix about 75% of all days since November 5th. I was hoping to revel (and gloat to friends/family) about the nice winter weather, and how I was (not) missing all the snow and cold back east. That worked out well...
  15. Flag had about 3 ft on the ground a week ago, but it's been warm, so I suppose it's been whittled down fairly significantly.
  16. I know for the season that they got more than Flagstaff. As for what's currently on the ground, I couldn't tell you.
  17. Wife said it was snowing in Tamaqua. Sounds like a car topper at this point, though. School was on a 2 hour delay, but then closed outright. Not sure why.
  18. It can happen. Right now, Tucson has more than Philly.
  19. If I were still in Tamaqua, it would take me 5 minutes to get to the watch area in Carbon County...
  20. Who's up for a snownado??? Pretty cool video of one here... https://fb.watch/jcianfrWmb/
