  1. See...I'm not kidding when I say cold air follows me. I moved back to PA in the summer of 2001, so 2000 was my last November (and winter) in Phoenix. So now, 22 years later I'm back in Phoenix, and this happens. Ironic, isn't it?
  2. While it's not always true, I'm a firm believer in what October and November (and April and May in the spring) show, so is the general pattern for the solstices. So far, to me anyway, it looks like the "general" trend is going to be troughy in the west and ridgy in the east. Of course there are flips here and there, but...
  3. I just wanna know when I can rub it in to family and friends when it's 75 here and snowing like crazy back there. So far, this isn't going the way I planned...
  4. I'm predicting no snow this winter at my current location...
  5. In PA I kept the house at 68 in the summer and 72 in the winter. But in my case, the house was old, and the cold air would seep in in various places. I guess my thought was that if I had to freeze and layer up outside, I wasn't going to do it inside.
  6. Do you guys see your breath when you breathe/talk while you're there???
  7. Happy Thanksgiving to my Central PA weather friends!
  8. Wow...you guys sleep in. 3:30am here and 43 degrees. 24 in Tamaqua.
  9. Front end thump, then a mixed bag of slop?
  10. It must be. When I lived out here in 96-01, you guys had some mild winters, and we had some cool rainers. I wonder if history is going repeat itself.
  11. I'm sorry... Cold air just seems to follow me wherever I go.
  12. I'm getting tired of seeing blue tones over Arizona...
  13. No. My mom has been all alone on the holidays for the past 12 years since my dad passed away. This year she won't be.
  14. If it helps any, this year I'm rooting for big central PA snows all winter long...
  15. I saw about the wind and checked my station. Peak gust since midnight? 10.3 mph.
  16. Oh I agree with you and wasn't questioning or criticizing your total. Just observing the impressiveness of what's in your backyard, compressed or not.
  17. I'm guessing that white vinyl fence is 6 ft high? If so, the pic of you by your shed shows only about 18 inches of fence showing. That says to me that, even with compaction, you have/had at least 4 feet of snow in your backyard.
  18. I think it's somewhere in the Sierra Nevada...lol Seriously though, as much as I dislike snow, I think I'd have loved to have been there to witness such an historic event. The pics and videos he's posted are mind blowing.
  19. You guys can keep those teens. Currently a mild 56 degrees here at 5:15am. Thanksgiving Day forecast, as of now is, wait for it.... sunny and 75.
  20. I've been religiously checking the NY511 cams, and the most intriguing thing to me has been the intensity of the snow in that band. Images from those locations show pure whiteout conditions. You can't see the freeways at all. Truly incredible!
  21. Not sure yet. I want it to be for good, but...
  22. 33.1 in Tamaqua. If it isn't sticking to the roads already, it probably will soon. Meanwhile, I'm posting this from my back patio with this view... Sunny and 71 degrees!
