  1. Warming up pre-sunrise to 22.3 currently, but the low this morning, unless it suddenly drops again, appears to be 20.7 degrees.
  2. The joys of being an early riser for work (1:30am) means my body is tuned for it, and as such, am up on my days off by 4am. At this ungodly weekend hour it's down to 23 in Tamaqua for the coldest morning of the season so far. And the coldest temperature I've felt in over 2 years...
  3. Ah, I see. I thought maybe low like my work location which is usually 5 degrees colder because it's 200ft lower than Tamaqua.
  4. Nine degrees colder than me. How? Do you live in the bottom of a valley?
  5. Occasional flurries in Tamaqua. Steadier snow showers in Hazleton. No accumulation though.
  6. Doubt it. We've got the clouds, but the moisture seems to be wrung out of them by the time they get here.
  7. If it can hold together past I-81, I might see some flurries or snow showers later.
  8. So unavoidable too. All one has to do is look to the nearby mountains or hills. If they start to look "washed out" and gray, expect a heavy, blinding snow squall and slow down or get off the freeway before trouble happens. Not sure why this simple fact is not conveyed enough in the media.
  9. Got the smallest window of opportunity I've ever seen in a forecast...lol Today Isolated snow showers between 3pm and 4pm. Mostly sunny, with a high near 38. West wind 3 to 8 mph. Winds could gust as high as 22 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20%.
  10. Sitting at .95" here in Tamaqua. Not sure if I can pick up the .06" needed to break the 1.00" mark. We shall see.
  11. Welcome to Pennsylvania where the roads cave even when it's not snowing...
  12. A half inch in the tipper so far this morning. Looks like a bit of a dry slot heading toward me per future radar, though. I just hope it stays overcast all day after the rain ends. As much as I love bright, sunny days, I like my Thanksgiving, and especially Christmas days, to be grey and cold looking. It adds to the "ambiance".
  13. Well, if true, I'll have a few extra days off in the next few weeks if they hit Mon-Fri. The 8,000 gallon tank I pull needs a permit because the truck weighs 100,000lbs. The permit specifically states the roads must be clear of snow or ice from shoulder to shoulder to run. Not sure if I should pray for snow or not...
  14. Mixed snow and rain now in my forecast for Turkey day morning.
  15. .36" in the bucket. Looks like it's finished though.
  16. I wish... Thanksgiving Day Partly sunny, with a high near 74. Northeast wind around 5 mph becoming calm.
  17. Ended up with an event total of 1.76" of which, one inch fell as snow, at least what had accumulated. It may have been more before and after.
  18. Just got home. Looks like about an inch in my Tamaqua backyard.
  19. Winner winner chicken dinner... Hell of a good storm for you up there!
  20. My loading location at the base of the Blue Mountain on the Schuylkill County side off of PA309. Looks like about an inch on non paved surfaces.
  21. I'm down in Allentown delivering water, but my backyard Tamaqua temp is 32.9 so any colder and the roads are going to start to get covered.
  22. Snowing good south of Tamaqua. Roads are wet, but Penn Dot is salting. Grass, trees, and cars are coated, though.
  23. So 1,000ft seems to be somewhat key at the moment. At 825ft at my house, a 50-50 rain/snow mix. On a 1,025ft ridge, nearly all snow. At work, which is 620ft, about 75-25 rain/snow. Nowhere, though, was there any accumulation yet.
  24. Also, per radar, the significant precipitation stayed north and east of my location as well.
