  1. They ain't fooling me. Biden probably shot it down...
  2. Don't blame yourself for this mess. It's my fault for moving out west. Wherever I am, there shall the cold be, too...lol
  3. Well, it's looking a little better for you guys in the 8-14 day panel, but for me, it's just more of the same...ugh
  4. This was when I got the sleet. That cluster formed a squall line just before got me, and is now moving southeast across all of metro Phoenix.
  5. It's so weird here right now. There's so much lighting and thunder that it's like a summer monsoon, but it's cold as hell... Must be some good dynamics with this storm system.
  6. It's not unheard of, but not normal, either. Right now it's storming with a rain/sleet mix, and very windy. Temp dropped from 50 to 39 as soon as it let loose...
  7. Check out this cluster of storms bearing down on me...
  8. Chances in 10 days... Where have we seen/heard that before?
  9. I'm just gonna leave this here...
  10. This is the official forecast for my niece's neighborhood on the western outskirts of Flagstaff proper. Check out the winds. Monday Snow showers. High near 36. Breezy, with a southwest wind 15 to 24 mph, with gusts as high as 36 mph. Tuesday Snow showers, mainly after 11am. The snow could be heavy at times. Widespread blowing snow, mainly after 11am. High near 31. Windy, with a southwest wind 25 to 32 mph, with gusts as high as 48 mph. Chance of precipitation is 90%. New snow accumulation of 5 to 9 inches possible. Tuesday Night Snow showers likely, mainly before 11pm. The snow could be heavy at times. Widespread blowing snow, mainly before 11pm. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 4. Windy, with a west wind 25 to 30 mph decreasing to 15 to 20 mph after midnight. Winds could gust as high as 46 mph. Chance of precipitation is 70%. New snow accumulation of 3 to 5 inches possible.
  11. Here we go again...Flagstaff. I post this not to piss you guys off, or boast about this winter pattern, as you all know I dislike it as much as you do. It's just astonishing how relentless it is. Nothing can flip it. I really wish this was for you guys.
  12. I will never forget that day. Not only for the epicness of a snow squall in May, but also because it was the day I tore my rotator cuff playing a contortionist while trying to break loose a stubborn kitchen faucet connection.
  13. Yup. Winter when you don't want it, at least for me. I'm in full spring mode once Easter comes.
  14. That's what it did in 2020. A photo of my tulips popping out of the ground (on Feb 11th in Tamaqua) popped up in my Facebook memories today.
  15. Cold storm incoming next week for the southwest deserts. It may be cold enough for some flakes in the Phoenix metro area. At the very least, snow levels look to be as low as 1,500ft Tuesday night/Wednesday morning. Snip from the NWS Phoenix discussion: Precipitation is also expected Tuesday night along a cold front and it may (15 percent) be cold enough for rain showers to change over to snow showers before tapering off across the lower deserts, including portions of the Phoenix area Wednesday morning.
  16. My Sun City forecast for Tuesday night... Tuesday Night A chance of rain showers before 3am, then a slight chance of rain and snow showers. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 35. Breezy, with a west southwest wind 15 to 20 mph, with gusts as high as 30 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30%
  17. This is absurd... ECMWF Ensemble and GEFS means indicate another anomalous low pressure system will dive southward through the Great Basin and towards the Desert Southwest Tuesday. Latest ECMWF EFIs suggest this system has the potential to produce widespread windy conditions Tuesday and Wednesday. Precipitation is also expected Tuesday night along a cold front and it may (15 percent) be cold enough for rain showers to change over to snow showers before tapering off across the lower deserts, including portions of the Phoenix area Wednesday morning. In the wake of this system, well below normal temperatures are anticipated Wednesday along with the possibility of a widespread freeze event Thursday morning.
  18. Thanks all, but I'm responding to you Bubbler, because this is my concern. He's not a spring chicken anymore. The window of opportunity is small.
  19. Since some of you like to talk basketball, what do you think of the Kevin Durant trade? Does it put the Suns over the top? They gave a lot to get him, just wondering if it was worth it.
  20. Yup, but our warm ups have been about as brief as your arctic blasts...
  21. I guess since we shot down that Chinese "weather" balloon, we're going to have to wait a little longer for the planned CCP model to become operational...
